Does the phone creak at all? The last slider I had, Nokia 6111, used to creak like hell when texting, and felt dead cheap. Is the 6280 the same or is the slider solid? Thanks

Mine doesn't creak .It doesn't feel cheap but it doesn't feel expensive if that makes sense.

Thanks

I am thinking about getting one. I currently have a Sony Ericsson K750i. Not looking for anything with better features but just want a change, and the 6280 seems to be the closest Nokia match to the K750i

6280 has a far superior video camera to anything SE have brought out.

The video camera is VGA, which is nice. video files can be HUGE though.

I have a 6280 and my GF has a k750i and they are both good phones but I think the 6280 is the better phone. Just DON'T get it on the 3 network. Get it SIM free if you can.

If you do get one on 3 and you're a tmobile customer, phone tmobile CS and ask for the unblocking code. It costs only £15 and you'll get it within 28 days, usually a lot sooner then get the software upgraded to V5.92 (free at any authorised Nokia dealer) which will remove the crappy 3 software.

I was thinking of getting it on Orange as it's only £69.99 on their website, reconditioned

What's the phone like on the music front? Is it as good as the Sony Ericsson mobiles e.g. k750, w800 etc in terms of sound quality?

I have to agree with this.....allthough the regular camera is shite.

Someone at work has this phone and I took the same photo on both phones (K750i and 6280) and the SE photo was a million times better.

But the video quality on the 6280 is outstanding.

The big screen is useful but the phone is too big heavy and bulky IMO.

Its loud but not quite as good quality. The music player is also a bit boring. SE phones have a better equalisers and the Mega Bass setting you see on other Sony stuff

My mum also had this phone and had a problem with the slider, and the phone switching itself off and losing the text message settings every couple of days.

The guy who has it at work had to send it in for repair after the screen failed and it needed to be replaced.

Thanks everyone. Think I'll be sticking with my trusty K750i for now

I've had one for the past year and it hasn't creaked still sturdy.!

If you do get one, make sure it has version 6.xx firmware on it as it's most reliable.
