Dr Who Exhibition

I haven't got time to run through all the threads to see if this has already been asked so here goes.

Has anyone been to the Exhibitions at Cardiff? There is one just opened at Manchester Museum and I want to take my 10 year old nephew tomorrow? I understand that it is the same exhibition? Is it worth the money? Are they genuine props and costumes etc. I don't want to pay for cheap knockoffs.

Hi, I took my 10 year old daughter to the Cardiff exhibition in February. Both of us loved every minute and went back in the next day! They have genuine props on display and loads and load to keep all Who fans happy, I hope you have a great time, if you do go.

That's the reassurance I wanted to hear. We are hoping to go tomorrow for the day as a birthday surprise.

The exhibition at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry will be adding extra exhibits as soon as they have appeared in the current Dr Who series.
It's certainly well worth visiting and runs until 5th November.

You might also like to know that David Tennant will be switching on this year's Blackpool Illuminations on 31st August.

I went to the Manchester one and really enjoyed it. It was very busy and there was lot's to see.

Here's a collection of video clips I took and posted on YouTube:-

If it's the same one that was on Brighton Pier for a few months it would be worth the exorbitant entry fee (around six notes if memory serves). Plenty of buttons to push and all that.

That exhibition moved to Blackpool and had mostly exhibits from the old programmes.
They were still selling off Dr Who mousemats labelled with Brighton Pier, (my mouse rests on one such mat)
The Manchester exhibition has more of the recent props such the Judoon, the new Cybermen and Daleks.

There are are real props and costumes. But6 I thougth it was heavily booked up for it's opening days.

I may be wrong, but I'd check first.

The one in cardiff is five minutes walk from cardiff bay, you can re-inact scenes from boom town and torchwood, and the re-devolped cardiff bay is fantatstic great science place with lots fro the kids to do, took my 6 year last year and spent all day in and around the bay.

Hope it's better than the Brighton one. That one was pretty awful, but served well to get my young daughter off to sleep.

Hi

Just returned from The Manchester exhibition.

Did I miss half of it?

Sure the Big Spider Lady was impressive but apart from some little remote daleks and moving big Dalek on a plinth there was zero interaction.

Just a room full of props and shite really.

Before you all go on at me YES I am a huge fan.

Not impressed at all..................£20.00 down the drain in 10 minutes.

I must have missed something?

Dave.
