Well they tell me it is not possible.

After waiting on hold for 30 minutes last night, speaking to two seperate people and then they couldn't answer my request without calling me back.

At least both people were from a UK call centre !

Surely it is possible to have an individual incoming number blocked ? BT can do it. The only things VM could suggest were to a) change my number (don't want that) and b) visit my Citizens Advice Bureau.

Ridiculous or what.

Perhaps someone with knowledge of the VM phone infrastructure would care to comment / offer suggestions ?

No - it's a certain number that keeps ringing up.

I want it blocked as they don't accept that whoever they are looking for has no attachement to my 'phone no. or address !

Why not get Caller ID? Then if the number rings just ignore it. I find it to be invaluable. If I don't know a number or don't want to speak to a person,I don't bother picking it up.

Alternatively, get a whistle and blow it down the line. You won't get pestered again.

When i was with NTL/Telewest/Beardy/Virgin etc etc they offered a free (yes, free) service whereby people with-holding their number didn't get through, instead being told to call back without with-holding.
When my phone rang i knew i'd be able to dial 1471 and there'd always be a number there!
I suspect that the service is chargeable now, but it certainly stops prank calls. Phone companies could save 1000's by just giving it to everyone, ie, no need for nuisance call bureaus? Why don't they?

They still offer ACR Anonymous Call Rejection its £2.50p a month !!!

Telewest had a specialist dept that dealt with this sort of thing see:http://www.telewest.co.uk/html/telep...tentcalls.html

Might be worth while giving them a call.
