Does this mean I can set my PVR for 7.40 and Dcotor Who will either be there or it will not?

How many TV channels has the BBC got? Does it really need to go messing about with programmes like Dr Who, which get the ratings it needs? Can they not put the football on another channel? I guess it because they want people to watch both, but at this rate, I'll be too pi**ed off with them (again for messing around with prog. times) that I won't bother watching at all.
And my son won't be staying up that late to watch it either.

If it gets put off for the sake of football, man utd. aren't the only ones going to kick off. Drop Any dream will do for a week and put who on instead

I always thought the Jan to March slot would have been best for Dr Who but as production takes 9 months I would imagine it would not be easy to shift.
I can see ratings taking a hit tonight given the glorious weather-its happened a number of times before.
What the BBC will also have to remember is that in two years time ITV is going to be firing the FA Cup at them.

Had it been running January-March at 7pm, it would have been moved four times because of FA Cup matches.

Not only is "ANWD" LIVE but don't forget that they're also working to a schedule. If you delayed it by a week the actual West End production would also have to be pushed back a week. Knock-on effects, and all that.

Plus, don't forget that there might (somewhere) be people who actually want to watch the footy and who might not have digital TV, so they couldn't show it on BBC3 for example.

Don't forget also that TV is not all about YOU

HERESY!!!! I just don't like the fact that events everyone else enjoys is constantly back burnered for the sake of bloody sporting events. Maybe the BBC should put some of our licence fees into buying a digital channel for sports so I don't have to put up with it.

Good job the rest of us are more tolerent then, isn't it? Seriously, sports fans have just as much right to have what they want shown on TV. Thaat said, I don't suppose you wanted a serious and sensible reply; I assume you just wanted to vent?

Just read this quote from O.G.

Quote:
“The scheduled start time for Doctor Who moves back to 7.40pm for the transmission of Episode three, Gridlock, on Saturday 14th April.

The reason for the delay is that BBC One has Match of the Day Live's coverage of one of the FA Cup semi-finals in the usual Who slot. The last time Doctor Who followed on from FA Cup football was for the transmission of last year’s second episode, Tooth and Claw, which achieved the highest ratings of the season. However, RadioTimes.com implies that if the football overruns then Gridlock will be delayed by one week. The programme is scheduled to be followed once more by Any Dream will Do, which features John Barrowman.”

It seems that Doctor Who might not be on next week at all...
