Shadow on LCD screen

I bought a Sony Bravia about 14 months ago and around Xmas time, I noticed what looks like a light shadow in the top right hand corner or the screen. It isnt always noticeable and my first thought was it could have been some dirt, but cleaning the screen has not had any effect. Is this a known problem with lcds and is there any way to get rid of it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I could be dirt INSIDE the screen, particularly if people smoke in the same room (I've changed one panel for this problem). If it is, then the LCD panel requires replacing, and while it's over 12 months old such a design flaw should still be covered by the guarantee.

thanks. no-one smokes in the house so unlikely to be smoke related but ill get in touch with the store i bought it from.

I've had a tiny spider crawl across my computer screen (TFT/LCD). Tried to catch it only to find it was inside the 'glass'

It could be dust building up, or it may be a problem with the backlight.

This thread in the DS HDTV Displays and Technologies forum seems to be discussing a similar problem on the Bravia.
