N95 - GPS & Mapping - setup and usage
Anyone tried the GPS and realtime mapping yet?
I am told to Watch Out, that if you are not careful, you could be online-internet at high network cost during setup of the GPS and mapping. If you have any GPS & Mapping difficulties, report here to me, please! ( I have a direct contact at mapping division at Nokia ) |

Some more background on who I am...
Hello, I work for Armchair Travel Co Ltd who have helped to develop the Insight City Guides for the Nokia mapping system (Smart2Go).
I would be happy to review any comments or difficulties you have with the Insight City Guides for Nokia. Just leave your comments in this forum, which I will check regularly. Currently, we have Insight City Guides available for London (English & French language), Paris (Eng & Fre), and in English only: Madrid, Beijing, Barcelona, Prague, Sydney, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and the UAE. We are working on guides for India and many other cities/countries as well. Cheers! |

intheknow go to the main menu then Tools > GPS Data > then wait for the 2 GPS messages to come up and click on 'Posistion' and then wait about a minute
![]() Make sure your outside in clear view off the sky, it should pick up your location then go onto the 'Maps' option (google earth thing) and give it a minute and should work. Ive had my N95 since monday and only managed to get the GPS to work today lol takes a little while. I cant get the Wi-Fi to work myself its the 1 thing i cant seem to crack. Linksys router and N95 grrrrrrrrrr

I was just in one of my rooms and just stood the phone up vertically and left it for 2mins and it found me (on the GPS data bit on posistioning, and then the Maps thing worked after that too). How have you got Wi-Fi to work? I been trying for about 4days and i cant get it to work it worked last night for 5minutes but then said connection lost and hasn't worked since.

I pain £60 at CPW. for the mobile on t-mobile Flext 35 + web 'n' walk (18) £42.50 a month, has 900 free mins and a 1000 text. Have to wait for a voucher to come to get the free voice nav upgrade. They have loads in stock and were flying out the store. Hope no ones bought a memory card from a high street shop, complete rip off. http://www.mymemory.co.uk/compatible...okia/Nokia_N95 Last edited by winstainforth : 07-04-2007 at 10:51. |

Thats it, new N95 goes back for exchange next week, increasing little niggles, like stupid little things that should not even happen..
let alone getting into the sat or other stuff yet, just can't be bothered having to fight with a brand new phone to get it to perform the basics.....like being able to switch it on, or switch it off without having to remove the battery when it freezes... so back it goes will try one more if this has probs then will downgrade back to a V3i Rzr... best phone I ever had... wish these multi million dollar corps would get their $h!T sorted out before realeasing new units..ok rant over...
