Hi I hope someone can answer this. I have a Phillips 26 inch LCD tv which is under a year old which has been working fine untill today when all of a sudden it the picture went dark and even in place red, infact any writing that should be yellow is red, that lasted about 10 mins before becoming clear again but when I got home from work the picture had gone again and is worse now so does anybody have an idea of what could be wrong?
I bought the tv last June from Currys so does anybody know if I could get a replacement or would I have have to do without a tv over Easter while it is been repaired. Thanks.

Ring them up, any reputable company should lend you a set while it goes away.

The Dixons Group policy is that replacements may take up to 28 days, so if you can't live without it over easter, don't take it in yet.

Are you sure it's the TV? Try some different cables and equipment to make sure nothing else is to blame. If the problem persists then yes it sounds like a fault has developed on your TV.

Thanks.
Just tried playing around with the cables in the back and it seemed to work but it did this morning before I switched it off, so I tried switching it off again and when I turned it back on again the picture had gone again but playing around with the cable again the picture is back so hopefully the picture will stay this time but I will wait and see.

It might be worth going in, or even phoning up Currys to check the repair situation on the model. Some may be sent away, and a loan set will not be provided, but some may be 'code 10' so replaced on the spot. It's not too likely, but worth checking out.

There's no chance of an LCD TV being a replacement.

It'll be a repair by a Philips authorised repair agent, another reason never to buy Philips...
