What is the real timescale?
The way they mess around with the timeline is really weird on this show. Obviously it's all filmed earlier in the year but over how long?
Do the tasks all come one after the other or is there waiting time in between. SAS has called it a 12 week job interview. Do they really do a task each week? And is the winner already decided as of now, and we just haven't been told? |

I've always thought the show is filmed over 6 weeks with a schedule like:
Day 1 - Siralan (or lacky) summons them to a meeting, they get the task Day 2 Task finishes Day 3 Morning - task result Afternoon - someone gets fired Evening - winners get their reward And repeat 12 times. Occasionally the task is over 3 days. Sometimes though the reward is on the day after the task result - what do the losing team do then? As for the winner - in past years the 2 finalists both work for Siralan until the final show is shown & he annouces his decision then. |

@shrike
That part has always bugged me If he has them working for him then he cant be subjective when picking the final winner as he ALREADY knows who is showing the most competence |

During the American season four one of the applicants broke her ankle in the first week and was in plaster for the whole series. Normally you are in plaster for six weeks, so obviously the show took less than that to film, and I did read afterwards that filming of that season took 32 days.
At that rate the pressure must be enourmous, with hardly time to rest. It doesn't explain however why they are all complaining about being away from their families for "weeks"

it is a 6 week schedule - starts the end of september, finishes 2nd/3rd week of november. They get very few days off over the whole period....

On Wikipedia (Go down to Trivia) it says it's filmed over a 7 week period.

I dont think they get any time to go home, thats why they look so frazzled by the final few shows.

they're allowed the odd phone call every now and again but are not allowed home at all. If they go out of the house e.g. if one wants to go for a run they have a minder with them

The two finalist are known but Sir Alan hasn't yet decided which will win. Apparently the final "You're hired" scene is filmed twice, with each candidate winning, shortly after the final task. They decide which version to use a few days before the final is broadcast.
