I'm sure most of you have already heard this, but Peter and Lucy's marriage ends next week! Isn't that a ridiculous storyline? Apparently, Peter makes a secret phone call to Shelley, then Lucy checks his phone. She finds Shelley in the last number dialled list and confronts him. He lies to her, but she doesn't listen and gives him him the boot.

How ridiculous is that??

Yeah, but I think she's going to come back on the day of Peters wedding with Shelly. I think it's about time they ended the storyline. It looks like he'll end up with neither woman, but I think they should put him with Lucy.

I've good news for you, Simalo! She IS being written out of it! Apparently she packs her stuff and leaves Weatherfield! (I didn't think she actually lived in Weatherfield, I thought it was somewhere else in Manchester!)

Unfortunatly Peter ain't being written out!

The florists is right by Frescos if that helps Did they ever say where Fresco was when they used it? Or could it be another Fresco?

All these unanswered questions

Freshcos stopped being featured in Coronation Street as it was too expensive to hire out the whole supermarket. The last time it was seen on screen was when Emma shot the burglars in the said supermarket.

Characters still arrive home with "( F )( R )( E )( S )( H )( C )( O ) shopping bags though!

Also, I'm pretty sure that the florist isn't too far away, Peter walks there, and Tracy works there too. I think it might even be just around the corner, on the new estate.

Also, what happened to the planned "TV Rental" shop which was supposed to appear on the new estate. The doctors surgery has vanished too!

Its in Timperley village (between Altrincham and Sale), on the Stockport Road leading out of the village towards Baguley. The Freshco is a Hanburys supermarket, and the florists is a real one.

I thought they had build a new set, to accomodate the florist and Lucy's flat, so it was nearer, as before it wasn't as close.

The exterior shots were filmed in the village. The scene where Lucy threw her wedding ring at Peter (before driving off in her white van) was filmed on the side road between the florists and the library.

There was a sign up in the window about six weeks ago saying "Due to filming of Coronation Street" business would be disrupted. I haven't been in the florists shop, nor the flat (!), so I can't say whether that location was used or whether that was on the Granada set in the city centre.

I'll give you a clue: she was taking it in the taxi office!

I think they originally used a real florists and flat but as the story progressed, they started to use an identical set in the studio. They've done this a few times in the past - ISTR the b&b run by the Duckworths started out as a real location before the Granada people created a mock-up in the studio.

You can tell by the lighting whether a set is real or fake. it's like when they shoot in the entrances to the houses in the street (usually if someone is entering or leaving a house). The lighting is very different from the studio version.

I always thought FRESCO's was based on Iceland (frozen food supermarket) ??

That's correct, FRESCHO's is a Frozen Foods supermarket, previously "Firmans' Freezers" and "Bettabuys."

Oddly, people always bring their shopping to work, and never put things in the freezer on Coronation Street - allowing it to defrost!

Yes, all this can add to the arguement that people have money to throw away in Coronantion st (and the other soaps for that matter).

They never have any money, yet all still eat their breakfast at the cafe and go the rovers for lunch.

What happened to cereals at home, like us normal people?

So much in soap is soooo untrue to life, im considering starting a new thread where we can all post our observances on the so-not-true things in soaps.

I always thought of that too. Stick this in your topic too- it costs £8 for a service wash in the laundrette. in Eastenders (I heard Pauline going "£8 please" once in EE)

Well, there's a Hanbury's (Co-Op) next to "Flower Craft Cottage" which was transformed into Lucy's florist. Not sure how product/brand placement works on C-St, but I imagine they couldn't have shown another supermarket chain on tv without the clearance etc. Besides, Iceland is on the other side of the road, nearer the Stonemasons Arms on the corner of Park Road and Stockport Road here .

That's why I like Corrie's Nelson family - they do have breakfast around the table like a family, and so did the Hillmans.

I agree though, people spend all day in the pub, and also, the two satellite dishes in the street point in different directions, as well as the "new" viaduct down Rosamund street which allows cars/trains to drive over it, and then they would fall into Diedre's back garden...

There are a lot of inconsitencies, but it doesn't spoil my enjoyment of Corrie!
