How long do you reckon it would have took Karen to get from wolverhampton to manchester by car?

I was getting quite confused when she kept saying she didnt want to get home at two in the morning, and then it cut to a shot of the rovers, so it clearly wasn't late when she got back, plus, what time does this mean she left joe in wolverhampton?

I was well confused last night???

I was confused too. Karen mutteres summat about being 2 OcClock when she arrived home, then there was the shot of Jack and Vera in the Rovers. I though the Rover's closed at around midnight. Not only that, but Jack and Vera surely wouldn't stay up that late???!!

Thought she got a taxi home that cost her £100

She said if she'd got a train back she would have been back at 2 o'clock!

I was a little tired when the whole conversation was going on! (It was 8:30, plus I was bored with Steve for one evening!)

It takes someone who can listen properly, just like u!

Still confused!!!

Okay then, let's assume karen got back to street before 11.30 (because she was back before the rovers shut - unless of course, there was a lock-in that night, but i'm drifting now..........).

Anyway, to get back for 11.30, what time did she leave wolverhampton, and how long would you reckon this journey would take by car (or TAXI) ??

According to the AA it is 76.6 miles from Wolverhampton to Manchester and the journey would take approx 1 hour 34 minutes.

So if Karen was back by 11.30pm she could have set off as late as 9.45pm. On the other hand she could have caught a train at 9.20pm from Wolverhampton which would have got her to Manchester Piccadilly at 2 minutes to eleven. There are later trains. The last train from Wolverhampton to Manchester Piccadilly leaves at 11 mins past eleven and gets in at 1.28am.

Cost of a Standard Single fare: £15.50.

I must go out more

TOO MUCH INFORMATION, but thanks anyhow

Well there was a shot of Shelly ringing the "last orders" bell whilst Karen and Steve were arguing in the second episode, so she must have been back before 11:30.

She got home at 10.45.

Was I the only one to notice the clock in the kitchen when Steve was frantically hiding the glasses!

I'm a new member based in Canada and I hope you can help me regarding an earlier story line that I missed here a couple of weeks ago. The show in question ended with Richard hiding in Audrey's laundry room and the following show was pre-empted for news coverage. It is bugging me not knowing how he got out of that situation! Can someone give me details? Thanks.

Firstly, welcome to the board! Secondly, you are WAY behind in storylines in Canada, as we saw that episode almost a year ago now! Richard almost got caught because he left his phone in Audrey's kitchen and Gail rang him. He dashed out of the laundry cupboard, grabbed the phone and switched it off, then got back into the cupboard! He waited for about an hour or so, until Gail conveneintly left and Audrey went upstairs for a shower. This was when Richard made his get-away! Anything else you need to know?

Thank you Dreary for the welcome and episode details ( that was some crazy getaway on Richard's part!!)
I know we are extremely behind over here (at one time it was only 2 or 3 months), but I don't mind knowing upcoming story lines; it doesn't ruin watching for me.
I gather Richard goes on to do more nasty things, and did I read that Ashley is a widower? What happens to Maxine?

Hi Canadianfan

You should take a look at the Coronation Street Visual Update site: http://www.csvu.net/

It's got details of episodes currently showing here in the UK as well as the ones which have recently been ttransmitted in Canada.

As for your question about Richard Hillman - a few weeks back the story came to a dramatic conclusion which had practically the whole country talking!!!

On watching that part on the omnibus this morning, it was probably more like 10.30, as they had been arguing a while before you saw the clock.

Also, something I didn't notice the first time round, was Tommy Nelson asking Angela what the time was, just before we saw the clock in Steve's kitchen. Angela said it was quarter to eleven.

Are you sure? I thought Gail picked up the phone to ring him, and was just about to dial the number, then decided not to at the last second. I seem to remember her standing right outside the airing cupboard door when she was doing it. That's what I think happened, anyway
