Look, Series 3 of The Apprentice has now destroyed the tradition of "girls go first", or that most of the girls get fired leaving a few of them in the later stages. Let's see:

Series 1 - Adonike, Lindsay, Miranda
Series 2 - Ben, Nargis, Karen
Series 3 - Andy, Ifti, Rory

Next to each series, I have put the first 3 people to get fired. Even though Series 3 has been in its second week, already 3 have gone (though technically Ifit quit, just like Adele).

Well, he actually did. Ifti stated he missed his family and he thought he wouldn't be able to cope with it. So Ifti did quit, but it wasn't as blatant as Adele in Series 1, who said clearly to Sir Alan, and want to go home, so initially she fired herself.

It's an interesting point about the women going first. This year they took steps which avoided it happening. Otherwise Jadine would have gone, I think. The project leaders are still going first, though.

On the other point, you are wrong: Ifti was fired - and rightly so, in my opinion.

In the first show I think a girl should have gone. It is very unfair that the team leader seems to get the blame all the time (although I think Rory deserved it).

I think if Jadine was leading the girls on the coffee challenge, the girls would have done better. They probably would not have won because the physicist would still have ordered tons of milk even when she was told not to by the team leader.

The Team Leader carries responsibility IRL, so it is fair that it happens on the show. The TL should make best use of available resources.

It is highly edited, so it is hard to tell just how useless Andy really was, but not answering his phone was bad. They were trying to tell him how bad their pitch was before moving, it was a typical back-covering exercise by the girls faced with weak management, I do not blame them, the longer he went without answering, the more they feared taking the initiative to move.

In the You're Fired show Rory claimed he was acting out of character. He defaulted to an extreme autocratic style in panic, maybe that is why his business failed, when things got bad he got all autocratic and lost the support of his staff when most needed?

Andy says he spoke to the van girls about a dozen times over the morning, so I really don't understand what happened there. I suspect Gerri did get through to him but was upbeat about the pitch's prospects, telling him it was about to pick up.

In the first 7 weeks of s1, the project leader is only fired once (and that was Lindsay on the toy task, who deserved it). In the first 8 weeks of s2, the project leader is fired 3 times, but one of those was Alexa who by rights should have been fired the previous week. So it's not like Sir Alan always picks on the project leader.

It was never a rule, it was a trend.

Since it showed her not being able to get through to him, it is bizarre to suggest that she did.

Maybe it's the American Apprentice that has left me with the impression that the project leader usually gets it.

It's what Andy himself says in forums and on the BBC2 show "You're Fired". I believe him. The editing doesn't show everything. It goes out of its way to make candidates - especially the fired candidate - look bad.
