Help with o2 network bar
Hey, need some help here before i go mental with o2.
I lost my phone on thursday night (no comments please, i know, not clever). Friday morning i called up to report the phone as lost and they put bars on the sim and phone to stop it being used. Anyway, not wanting to be without a phone i went up to my nearest o2 store and obtained an unregistered contract sim. Called o2 back up and they registered the new sim to my number. However, i was advised the bars against my number would take between 2 and 24 hours to be lifted. It is now over 40 hours and the bars have still not been lifted. Whenever i call them they just tell me it is being processed and they cant do anything. Apparantly its an automatic system process and i just have to wait!! Surely this cant be right and there must be some way of getting them to lift these bars so i can use my phone again?? Anyone got any ideas? |

Sounds like they're having a service issue. If their process is the same as Tmobile's then it should take no more than 10 minutes but backlogs and other such delays can slow things down.

yeah they said yesterday there was a backlog but a 2 day one!! I think they are taking the p!ss now. I know it was my fault that i lost my phone which is why i have been patient but they must have some sort over manager over ride to get it put straight through?

Don't forget it's a bank holiday weekend, more people off work, more people with problems, more network traffic.

Just got off the phone to them yet again. They ahve now admitted they have a fault with the queing system that removes the barrs. Basically im stuck queing until this is sorted and that probably wont happen until Tuesday due to bank holiday. SO im stuck with no phone!! They have given me 1/2 price line rental for the month and as i cannot upgrade until the barrs are removed they are going to give me free next day delivery on my new phone as well.
Not happy and would rather have my phone working but there isnt alot that can be done!! |

Does anyone remember the days when mobile phones weren't invented. We seemed to cope then.

OK, they still havent lifted the barr. This is day 5. Where do i stand now legally with canceling the contract. Surely if they are unable to provide me with the service i am paying for they are in breach of contract and i can cancel??

just for anyone who was remotely interested i think i remember reading that any orders sent from the 'doing system' to the 'processing system' between the 5th and 8th of april were stuck.
i think there were around 8000 requests not actioned ranging from bars to tariff changes etc. we had word today that it would be a 17hour fix from around 4pm this aft. as for next day delivery, if its ordered before 4pm then you might have a chance, if not then dont get ya hopes up
