Just thought it would be an obvious addition?

It could still be a 'solve problem with a series of clues' type game. Spiderman doesn't do much but web people up and fight, but it still makes for a hell of a game! They did do a platform type thing in the early 90s, but Doctor Who wasn't as popular then. I'm sure the big boys could think of something that would work.

An updated version of this would be cool.

My thought entirely Eaglestriker. Thanks for that. Don't anyone say they cannot come up with a corker of an idea for a storyboard. It's what the great British Public are missing!!

If they're not going to make a TV special or film of the Time Wars final battle, then why not make it a computer game. Perhaps with similar elements to the Star Wars Battlefront games, you could play as the Time Lords or the Daleks. Various cheats could enable you to play in character as any of the Doctors incarnations. Perhaps the prize for completion of the game, could be to see a specially filmed McGann to Ecclestone regeneration.

I think a Duke Nukem-esque game with Dr Who would be pretty good.

Let's hope it's not another Dalek Attack.

If you want to know more about this truly awful game (I should know, I had it), then look no further than here.

I think the main reason is this;games cost millions to make, and most of the profits are from the US & Japan. As popular as Dr Who is here, it has little or no appeal to anyone outside of these markets. Obviously if it was a AAA game, people would get interested elsewhere, but thats unlikely.

true. however they could make a simple dalek v cyberman game without any involvement from the doctor?

So.. what.. Like Aliens Vs Predators, except [insert cheap Dalek vs Stairs gag here]

I dunno, Dr Who never really worked that well as an action game before. And the whole reason the new series has done so well is that for the most part, the drama has been more at the forefront than the action. That really wouldn't work in a game.

But.. Maybe a TimeWar game, or something? (Not a MMORPG!) Single player, you playing as the Doctor, following the preset path that eventually leads to the whole "Everybody's dead" scenario, and possibly even shoving in the McGann/Eccleston regeneration, just for the heck of it.

The Time War doesn't have to be a 'Total War' scenario, with bombs, rockets and stuff flying all over the place. It could be interperated as a puzzling stragetic sort of war, which would be ideal for a Doctor Who game.

My son wants Dr Who lego - Perhaps they will produce some one day!

After all, Spongebob Squarepants lego has just hit the UK!

you're more likely to see Doctor Who DVD Games than a Playstation game

Dr Who does have a cult following in the US and of course Canada, who co-produce the current series. If word gets out that a quality game is in the making, the cult following over there should help create a buzz.

A RPG/FPS style game would suit, Gamers could be Timelords, Soldiers or Pilot, It could have all sorts of threats over a wide universe, Quests and Missions and a different style of combat for each class.

It could work online or off, And have it like a Historical reflection of the Timelords, Being able blast Daleks and Cybermen with Ub3r weapons with the Soldiers.

The Timelords would have the advantage of a radar and a slight speed increase, But they would not have many attack options, making you use your cunning and stealth advantages.

Pilots would be Tardis crew and have good weapon skills, And also Engineer and Medic skill sets.

And for the Timelords death would mean regeneration and a change in your abilitys and a more puzzle solving style of play.

I would play it

I don't think the fan base outside of the U.K. is big enough to support a Doctor Who game. It's a huge, cultural icon in Britain but it has a much smaller (yet rabid) cult fanbase elsewhere around the world. It's a financial risk to be honest. That may change since the Scifi channel (here in the U.S.A.) has started airing the new Doctor Who series. A new, fresher audience will begin to discover it.

Personally, I like the new show. But not enough to buy Who books, DVDs and games. I'm just a casual viewer.

There was a Little Britain PS2 game released earlier this year. How widespread can that show's appeal be?

Don't have Playstation, but I am surprised BBC haven't released that scarily-addictive Dalek game from the website (where you have to escape Van Statten's base).

They've already developed it, so it's just a matter of slapping it onto CD...

Something like the Final Fantasy series would be excellent...
