Not Ricky (I'm so self important that Richard Curtis want's me for a lovechild) Gervais?

Ya avin' a larf? Ya avin' a larf!

Jason Statham is a bit groovy tho. Sort of goes back to the Chris Eccleston wide boy style doctor though. Hmmm?

Yes, but doesn't he always need to be with a gun in his hand or some sort of weapon?

Amazing that this thread went past post 3.

If you re-read my original post you should see that I never remotely believed that Martin Shaw WAS going to be the next doctor or that there was anything meaningful in the storyline of George Gently.

The words 'obviously pure chance' were the main clue.

Like I said it was a coincidence.

But my point was that it was easy to create such an idea from assorted chance events.

As happens a lot in DW posts elsewhere.

Apologies if anyone took this too seriously. I was not intending to mislead.

What an awful list of people. Very few are people I can actually see being the Doctor. Maybe John Simm, but some of the others...

Easy money for the bookies isn't it, there's bound to be someone out there betting that Ricky Gervais will be the next doctor.

Matt Lucas apparently wants to be the next doctor.

Well hopefully RTD won't be around for too much longer and they can get more good writers in.

And an exec producer with a more open mind on casting.
