Obviously no spoilers (yet), but how does anyone feel that it should go? like the last two set on modern earth with spaceships? or is it time for a change? do we want new aliens or reccuring ones. will (for once) we have set characters instead of introducing new ones? what do you think??

no,IMO the christmas ep should be a stand alone story, altho non knowing what DT is doing it might be worth using the christmas 1 to regenerate into a new dr..that would get some viewers

I would like to see a Christmas from the past, but still on Earth.

Any time might be Ok - has any big event ever happened at Christmas time?

Perhaps during the time of Cromwell (I'd love to see him actually being some evil alien creature....) or maybe set during WW1 and we see the two sides playing football on Christmas day

How's about the ultimate Christmas from the past? The year is 1AD, there's just been a baby born and King Herod, who turn out to be the Master is trying to get hold of this baby to sell to the Evil profiteers of the fourth Galaxy run by the Chylantissians in return for his freedom. It's a race against time to save humanity from the clutches of the Master before all human history is changed.

Just a thought.

As long as there are no more scavenger robots, or alien attacks on contemporary London that just happen to start on Christmas Day, I'll be happy. Parts of the last one felt just a little too familiar, although in fairness I still enjoyed it.

Well...I think first, the production crew should appear on set apologising for freema and explaining exactly what they were thinking, and I also think as a way to make it up, we should have a christmas special shot entirely in the BBC quarry

The Doctor goes to his assistants house for Christmas Dinner......he meets all her friends and family. All the young white males appear to have jamaican accents despite never having been there in any way shape or form.
The Doctor cannot understand this as there is no real history or logic to this.
He jumps in the tardis shouting "We've got to do something the worlds gone potty"

I've got it. The doctor becomes prime minister, and hires a new secretary that he falls in love with, only to get a strop on when he finds the american president flirting with her. meanwhile, the doctors grand daughter is married to an advertising executive and their marriage is on the decline...

Wait. That's love actually. No...no...got nothing.

Maybe it`ll be Christmas in Elizabethan England and we`ll get to see why Elizabeth the First was so cheesed off with the good doctor!

Hasn't RTD said S3 ends with a massive cliff hanger, won't this have to be resolved in the xmas special?

Perhaps if he'd have succeeded we'd still be worshipping imaginative Gods and leading interesting lives. Or we'd be more advanced, seeing as the Christian Church basically halted all progress for about 1500 years.

heres my idea for a synopsis...

The Doctor and Martha escape in the Tardis after a battle with The Master. The Doctor, badly injured, sets his controls for christmas 2008, but faints and makes it 1666, the great fire of London. As The Doctor begins to go through his regenerative cycle, Martha is thrown out the Tardis to explore this old London town of centuries ago.
Martha is then found by Charles II and is brought to his court and asked to help the people defeat this mysterious force. While at this time, The Doctor, while not yet regenerated fully, has gained some strength and left the Tardis.
Charles II tells Martha of great beasts that roar in the night, breathing out air of poison and flames of torture. These beasts have plans to destroy the world with their power of fire. Can Martha help save the king and the world? will The Doctor help save the day before his regeneration happens? and finally why is there a tingling down Marthas spine that feels like the opposite to the Time Lord she travels with?

i know its a bit crap, but what do you think, it could be possible, and we see the regeneration right at the end of the episode. it would be good, seeing The Doctor go through so much before he goes through change.

Nick Frost appears in a Jag, says "'Sup niggas? I got something to show ya! Wanna see?" and the Doctor and Martha stare blankly at him.

How's that for a slice of fried gold? :P

No reference to Christmas at all would be a bonus. No more silly Santas and homicidal trees.

there will be no regeneration (of the doctor anyway) in this years christmas special as david tennant has signed for the whole of series 4 at least.
besides what is with wanting to change the doctor the whole time, it's like all the RTD haters, i mean do any of you like any part of doctor who at all.
IMO david tennat is the best doctor since peter davison, and maybe, just maybe the best of them all?
you'll be wanting the tardis and the theme music changed next!
