Really enjoyed the show. Absolutely loved Daniel and quite liked Lee and Anthony even though he got more praise than his vocal warranted. I have a strong feeling that Keith is the favourite of all the judges yet on the basis of last night I thought a fair few sang better than him.

I didn't watch Maria, and have never watched a series of SCD the whole way through (how that is about to change this year ) but I am hooked on Joseph. Absolutely love this show.

Lewis is my fave, but my opinion's of Rob have completely changed after last night's show, he's probably my second favourite. I'm also really liking Seamus, Chris B & Antony.

So, I was bored this morning during breakfast and re-watched Joseph (I taped it), and decided to air how I feel this morning after all of last's night excitement.

First up - Rob - I love him and watched his performance again. He was awesome and the fluff with the words wasn't his fault I think. He did a fab performance for an amateur.

Next - Lee - I fast forwarded through his performance, shows what I thought about that.

Next - Lewis - He was pretty good this time round. Watching it again I realised that he has a FANTASTIC voice, but the performance would've been better had he danced and bit more and stopped looking at the camera all the time.

Next - Ben - I decided to wash the plates during this bit.

Next - Craig - Cute, you could tell he was nervous. Bless him! I liked his performance and it got better towards the end.

Next - Johndeep, mmmmm, i liked it first time, but i forwarded through it this time.

Next - Seamus - didn't like his attitude again, so I did other stuff while his performance was going on.

Next - Anthony - again, did other stuff while he sang, but I did feel he didn't sing very well last night.

Next - Chris C - I didn't like it the first time round, still didn't like it, forwarded through. Bless him, he did try hard, just was too poppy

Next - Daniel - loved it loved it loved it. But he didn't act it too well. He didn't connect with the dancing girl, just kinda smiled through most of it. But his voice is awesome.

Next - Chris B - good voice, good acting, good stage presence, can't wait to see more of him.

Last - Keith - liked it the first time, didn't want to listen to it again though.

So that's my morning after thoughts.

Favourites are: Lewis, Daniel, and Chris B.

Lewis is my favourite. He interests me too. He's only 17 and I got the definite feeling that he is being played down so far. He didn't even get the number of close ups in the group numbers that others got. (Trust me, I was waiting for them so I noticed. ) It's going to be interesting to see if he can grow and develop as the weeks go by. We haven't really seen what he can do yet. When Bill K said that he would go into the rehearsal room with him tomorrow and he would be a sensation there was a reason for that.

Lewis is great.

Do you think one of us should start an appreciation thread for him?

IMO Any Dream Will Do needs a forum of it's own.

Yes! Go for it. I will post with you and fight off anybody who tries to be horrid to him.

And mods, if you are reading this, we do need a special forum for Any Dream Will Do.

do you think that having backing dancers and generally looking more "exciting" in a performance makes a difference compared to let's say, JohnDeep who did it all on his own ????

I thought Johndeep was better than most of them last night.

I thought the backing dancers were sometimes a distraction..... and they weren't THAT good! I thought something like Daniel had, with just the one girl, was very nice. Someone to interact with. Rather than just 4 girls dancing around you.

Johndeep has some way to go to be a convincing leading man. At the moment, I see him more as a potentially great Shirley Bassey impersonator than an object of female adoration. Joseph is adored by women and is imprisoned after the wife of his master makes advances on him. I can't see Johndeep pulling that off convincingly - as talented as he undoubtedly is.

I am not interested in - or even speculating on - Johndeep's sexual orientation. John Barrowman is gay but has no problem playing a masculine leading man. Johndeep is just a little too effeminate IMHO. That's not a problem if he can rise to the acting challenge, but at the moment his performances are just too campy. If I had to cast him in anything right now, it would be as Angel in 'Rent'.

I feel a little the same with regard to Johndeep. He has a fabulous voice and a lovely face but is very camp. I just think that sometimes when the competitors sing with "props" dancers in this case it adds dimension and hence more interest to their performance which I think did Connie favours in the early rounds of last year's Maria. Johndeep came across as looking very lonely on his own !

Well. there you go. I thought he was the only one who actually did act the song convincingly, he didn't try too hard and over-acted (or over-gurned) like some of the others.

I thought that was a bit harsh too at first ! But then I realised that it was a stroke of genius really, and what a way to exit the show

Sorry but this Lewis hype is ridiculous. He has pleasant, indeed a good voice and one that will only get better. But he has absoultely no charisma or stage presence. He is, to copy Richard from BB last year, a plastic. Joseph has to convey so much more about him than looking pretty. Comedy, pathos, drama. There are several better potential Josephs in this competition

I haven't really seen any Lewis hype. I like him very much (I'm allowed) but he doesn't seem that popular to me from what I've seen.

Forgive me everyone for intruding on a thread for a programme I'm not watching!

I watched the later stages of the Maria one but I really can't abide the songs in "Joseph" so it is seriously putting me off!

I'm not wild about them either, but then I felt the same about the Sound of Music ones too!
