Thursday 8th May
I'll try not to make this too waffly....but I am liable to gush a bit so just skip the boring bits if you like!!
As you may have read I was supposed to be buying the Upper Circle tickets....but my finger just slipped a bit when I was buying them and I seemed to end up with front row stalls

oh dear, what a shame!! I kept it a secret from my daughters (this hobby would be so much cheaper if they weren't fans as well - costs 3 times what it would do - and of course there's no concession prices in WE shows, in the Mobile Jo performances I pay child prices!) Anyway...I digress...
We live about 40 minutes train ride away from Charing Cross so very easy journey for us....I got in from work, got changed and hurried the girls along a bit and we set off for Charing Cross. Grabbed a quick bite to eat then set out to make sure we knew exactly where the stage door was ...no problem finding that!
So, back round to the front and in we went. We collected the tickets from the box office and then after a quick trip to the ladies the girls asked where the stairs to the Upper Circle were. Cue me standing there with a big grin on my face...

and I owned up that I had bought front row stalls instead!! They couldn't believe it...especially Laura - the younger one, who is a massive Lewis fan as well....Alex the older one does like Lewis but is a really big Keith fan primarily.
So we headed in and made our way to the front of the stalls!! Woo hoo! We were right in the middle as well...just one other couple there - mother and daughter I think (the daughter was celebrating her 18th birthday we found out later, and she matched me and Laura for screams at various key points in the show!) A few other people joined us in the front row - but there were about 8 seats free one side and 2 free on the other....we were surprised at that as pretty much every other seat looked to have been taken - certainly in the stalls. As it turned out, the 2 seats belonged to a couple who came in about 15 minutes late....and the 8 seats belonged to a big party who got there in the interval!! They missed CED!!!
Anyway, we fidgeted and wriggled until the conductor popped up in front of us and the show started! Well, what can I say? It was more wonderful than ever - Lewis has come on so much since we saw him in January...his voice seems stronger, acting was superb..and his body (ok, ok I won't go there)
Jenna as narrator was excellent (although I would like to see Chris B as narrator personally) and the brothers were so funny. We had quite a lot of eye contact with the brothers...partly because we were so close to the stage that our faces were more lit up than further back in the stalls I guess.
CED was very moving - I felt really quite choked up especially as I kept thinking it would be the last time I saw Lewis as Joseph .
(I wish they could secure the bars a bit better - it's a bit offputting when they are wobbling about!) Another funny bit was when Lewis slammed the golden cup down and a chunk of it broke off!!!
Pharoah was good again, but being up close you can see that he's ripped his trousers on the seam in the past and they've been badly sewn up!! I have to say that I prefer Mobile Jo's pharoah - Wayne. Just a personal thing...and I'm looking forward to seeing Antony as pharoah as well. Sorry - digressing again...
And the mega mix....wow! My favourite bit...
So the mega mix started - the best bit...I always get really sore hands at this stage from clapping! I didn't get up and I dance I'm afraid (first time ever that I haven't) because I was aware that we had 2 young children behind us that wouldn't be able to see....and no one else was up ....and Alex begged me not to embarrass her by getting up!! LOL!
By this stage Lewis was looking at us directly quite a lot as well (nothing to do with our screams I'm sure!!) and we got a couple of waves as the curtain went down. I was gutted that it was all over....but now for the sprint to the stage door....
We pushed past the other people in the row and headed for the bar area where you can take the short cut straight to the stage door area and planted ourselves along with about 4 other people right near the front. Not that it put other people off pushing straight past us!
After about 10 minutes or so quite a lot of people had joined us and we'd been pushed back a bit, but the cast started coming out slowly. Every time the door opened there was a gasp...but no Lewis. Eventually it got to about 10.15 and I was really twitchy.
The last time I'd stood at a stage door was in Southend after mobile Jo, and Chris B (who we were waiting for) never did come out....so we waited until after the second show....and he didn't come out then either - he'd escaped out the front door
I started to get really worried....quite a lot of people had gone -including one quite large and noisy group.... when finally the door opened and out he came! He looked lovely...black jacket, 3/4 length trousers, flip flops and sunglasses on his head. He signed some autographs, got some pictures taken and then Laura got her chance to ask him to sign her photo of her with him after the dream on concert, which he did. I then took a photo of them and bravely asked if I could have a picture too - I've never been brave enough to ask anyone before

)
He posed for a couple more pics then went back inside ...I stupidly went completely dumb and didn't say anything I wanted to say...what an idiot! I'll have to meet him again so that I can say something...even if it's something stupid! LOL!
The photo of us is good - but because Laura took it and she's much shorter - it's focussing on my double chin a bit - LOL!!! Never mind - he had his arm round me for a bit.....golly, I really need to get a grip I'm easily old enough to be his mother!! Nope don't want to think like that!! LOL!
Anyway, the evening was all over so we floated back down the road to Charing Cross....and I'm still floating on cloud 9 now!!
