T-Mobile £1 internet access
Adam D
15-04-2007
Hello.

I have read about the t-mobile £1 internet access for a day but only seen it mentioned to payasyougo. I am on T-mobile flext and would like to know if it is available and would i be able to use it on my computer through the phones modem?

I only need it for a couple of days.

Anyone any information?

Thanks

The £1 per day offer is only available on PAYG. If you have Web and Walk put on your account to use your phone as a modem then you'll need Web and Walk Plus or Max (£12.50 or £22.50).

i was told by one of the stores that you could get it on a contract, but when you call tmob CS they say it is an additional extra @£7.50 per month

It is available to paymonthly but its capped. Looking at orange you can try 3g speeds but i think i will need a 3g simcard (cost?) for free for a month. I dont mind topping up £10 should last me for the month and then pay for any extra after the month when i need it. I just cant see on the orange site if it is compatable with using your phone through the pc

I am on T-Mobile Flext and i have internet capped at £1 a day. All i did was phone them and ask for it to be added. If you are a heavy user then web 'n' walk is better of course, that can be added at £7.50/month on top of what you already pay.

Still a little confusing. I only want to use it twice so i could get away with using at as a modem for the two times without them noticing.

Looking at this

Orange World Access Daily

1. Orange World Access Daily provides up to one day's unlimited browsing for £1.

2. Orange World Access Daily can only be used in the UK. Any GPRS or CSD use outside of the UK will be charged at the relevant current international rates.

3. Orange World Access Daily is not available on 3G phones.

4. The Orange Extras terms and conditions also apply. These should be viewed at www.orange.co.uk or a copy is available from your local Orange shop.

It doesnt mention anything about using the phone as a modem.

tmobile say the £1 day fee (whether you are contract or pay as you go.. i'm contract and i have it!) is for using your phone only.

They say if you want to use your phone as a modem to connect a laptop or whatever, then you should upgrade to either the USB modem thinggy they have (which is about £20 a month) or if using your phone, go for the flextplus option (which is a bit more expensive than web n walk)

I have used the £1 Web'n'Walk on Pay as you Go for use with my Laptop when my Broadband went down for a day. I did stay within the 35MB Daily Limit so I cant see why T-Mobile would complain using it on a Laptop anyways...

i might give it ago. My only worrie is that if i go over 35mb or whateve even though i have bought the £1 thing can it start using more and taking it of my contract?

Get Netmeter and enter the daily data allowance into it and set an alarm, don't forget the allowance will include both upload and download.

Just get a separate Pay As You Go SIM - the minimum topup is £5. Use it when you need internet access, the maximum cost is £1 per day.

T-Mobile say that it's "not for modem use or laptops" or whatever but it works just fine. Worst case, if they DO notice they might disconnect the SIM. As it's a PAYG SIM you won't have lost much - absolute worst case, even if you end up paying £5 for only one day's unlimited internet access, it's still not a terrible deal. But it won't be an issue - you should be fine.

I love the pound aday thing but the lock thing for 18 sites is a pain you have to go to a T-Mobile shop if you dont have credit card to get it unlocked so you can use 18 sites like chat and stuff. The most close T-Mobile shop to me is in town centre and i can not be botherd goin there.

Anyone know any other way to unlock 18 sites without havin to go to a T-Mobile shop or usin a credit card?.
