Which phone should i have? :)
Hi guys, newb here looking for some advice
![]() I have just had an offer off Orange retentions for 500 xnet mins 750 txts all for £15 a month. This includes the cost of a new phone but i dont know which one to choose! It was easy last time i upgraded to make a decision but now thats not the case ![]() The phones in question are the D900, W880i and the K800i. Thanks

Personally I like the K800i as I needed a camera for work and its ideal that it has a phone built in.
Also Sony Ericsson phones allow you to use MP3's as text message alerts where Samsung don't, not a biggie but I like it. |

I'd go for the K800i over the W880i. Although the latter is Walkman, it lacks features such as Autofocus, FM Radio, Flash, etc.

I agree about the little things such as being able to use mp3s as text alerts - very handy!
I'm actually getting a w880i this morning, I'll post back with my thoughts this evening. The k800i seems awesome but the world and his dog has got one by now which kind of puts me off. The wow factor of the w880i is what does it for me. |

![]() Another thing, how did you get such a good deal? 500 xnet and 750 texts for £15 is brilliant. |

I'm on Virgin Mobile and when I rang them the other day the CS fella said he and most of his colleagues had the K800i he said he thought it was the best around. I suppose thats saying something when it comes from staff at a mobile phone company itself!

If its good then I might take it.I dont like that its a 18month contract. All new contracts seem to be this long and if you want a 12month you get a lot less for your money.I think the k800i is prob one of the best phones on the market but im pretty sure in a few months an update will be released.I dont mean the k810i as it is just a facelift. Then ill have to wait 18months for a new phone. My friend tells me its a good deal so might go for it.

OK my W800i has arrived and all I can say is 'wow'! The first thing I did when I wanted to get this is read the online reviews to see what people didn't like about it - it seems like the lack of flash and FM radio annoyed most people.
The camera quality also seemed to be a problem for some - but I can confirm it's as good as any other SE I've seen (bar the k800i). If a radio is what you want then you're able to steam Internet Radio. The keys are supposed to be difficult - not so. They take a bit of getting used to but they're fine. The only downfall is isn't not an internet phone. OK you can go online with it but by default the text is extremely small however you are able to zoom in so it becomes readable. The size is incredible, you don't know you're carrying it and the Walkman produces the best sound you'll ever hear on a phone. |

Hi guys, thanks for the reply`s!
Its now down to the W880i and the K800i, i think they are both 3g? but i would prefer the K800i if i can stick some memory in it i got the deal from Orange retentions, i basically asked to leave as 3 were doing 500 minutes for £15 a month. The guy said was there anything for them to do to stop me leaving, i said match it with some texts and you've got a deal, and he did Well chuffed!

I'd go for the K800i
It's better than the W880i

Very nice siflav.I would love the n95 but you would have to take a very expensive contract to get it free or pay alot to get it on a cheaper contract.I cant see orange offering it on a 15 a month contract.

Good choice.
![]() Ask them if they will throw a memory card in with the deal, you never know your luck. |

I got the N95 on a £20 contract from orange
. The phone was free, I get 500mins and 100 texts and they put a £30 credit on my account.Think it depends on how long you've been with them, how aware you are of the other deals available on other networks and ultimately how nice you are to the CA. I didn't even push for that deal, I was really amazed and extremely chuffed, I'm still on a high. |

I've just upgraded from a w850 to a w880 and the sound and camera are much better quality on the w850. The 880 sounds really tinny and even though its supposed to have some amazing technical thing with the screen so you can read it in sunlight, I find it really hard to see who's calling... maybe I should change my theme though!
I love the phone, don't get me wrong, the size is brilliant and the buttons aren't a problem, in fact, I really like them, but if you're using it mainly for the walkman feature, you'd be better off with an 850. Can't really comment on the 800, but my brother has one and loves it! |
