Seeing that he's popular amongst us, and also, I have a feeling he'll be in the competition for quite a while. I thought we should have a thread for him!!

So Daniel fans... come this way and post!

Daniel has the best vocals in the whole competition imo.

He actually made me melt on saturday.

I think his acting could be improved though.

Best vocals in the competition and an adorable smile. Hopefully he will pick some great songs to make the most of that voice. Currently my favourite but I do like Lee too.

He does have a great voice. Any doubters should have a listen to Maria posted on his myspace
http://www.myspace.com/officialdanielboys

But I do agree that the choice of song can be critical so just hope they/he chooses some good ones.

He was amazing on Saturday. It wasn't just his voice either, i think he had the best tape before he sang - he just came across as so charming and unassuming. I was trying to be impartial and not have favourites, until i saw his performance!

He has a wonderful voice. It will be interesting to see whether that carries him through. He'll definitely be going a long way in the competition.

I think he is absolutely fantastic but not sure he is right for Joseph but definately right for stardom

He reminds me of Will Young. I have to say also that i think like Will he could be a man's man so a lot of ladies will be disappointed. This is only my opinion of course (but I am usually right!)

I saw him understudy and play Mark in Rent a few years ago and he was brilliant - was so shocked he was an office temp, wish my temp job was working with him!! Thought for sure he'd be like Lee and a regular West End understudy at least.

I totally agree with your first point. Will Young is who instantly came to mind for me during his performance.

I don't think I can agree with your second point. Having seen Daniel on stage during the dress rehearsal and off stage during most of the rest of the War of the Worlds tour a year ago where he was understudy for all 5 male roles, I would say he could be straight for Britain. He could just be a very good actor though, on and off the stage ................ which leads me to my next point ...........

He was the only one I saw actually acting his way through his performance. Going back to the dress rehearsal performance I saw of him (filling in for Russell Watson as Parson Nathaniel) in the War of the Worlds, he acted outstandingly.

perhaps acting was the wrong word... he's obviously almost as experienced as Lee so would be a good actor. I just felt he didn't really connect with the song on an emotional level, it was quite a generic performance. His voice blew me away, his performance didn't.

Not sure if people have seen this too, but here's Daniel's audition video on the Joseph Website

http://www.bbc.co.uk/joseph/joseph/n...04/42453.shtml

Needs realplayer though, but if you get to watch it..... how good is that. Lots of passion too, even without an audience and a girl dancing around him :P

If the rumours are true, think he would prefer a boy dancing around him!

Daniel is one of my two favourites in the competition. Great performer and interpreter of the song.

I couldn't agree more, although I did think this wasn't the best song for him - do they choose their own songs?
(I've just re-watched week one - he was absolutely amazing!))

I was looking at one of my favourite stage performers Paul Spicer online & came across Daniel's name who was in Christmas in New York last December.

Paul is great so I am sorry I missed this show.

He was good last night, but there were a few who performed better, but sure he will come back next week and blow everyone away.

He has a lovely smile.

I think he's got a good voice, but he does tend to bellow sometimes and half-shout instead of actually singing. If he applied some Bel Canto principles, his voice would be nicer to listen to.

Plus he does that dreadful vibrato-o-o-o-o-o-o thing at the end of musical phrases which is just awful. Too many musical singers do this and it's just a cover for poor breath control.

He's got the making of a star for sure. And he's delicious to look at! I like his demeanour too. He doesn't seem cocky and arrogant, but just seems to enjoy getting on stage and performing. (To me, there are two types of performers: those who do it for the glory of themselves, and those who do it for the glory of the music and the composer. Daniel is the latter. I hope he wins!)
