Absolutely. A final between the two most talented contestants would have only been fitting.

The idea of the judges' vote is to almost ensure this. Sadly ALW doesn't appear to have grasped that nettle.

I hope he gets the hopeless Joseph he appears to be aiming for and deserves.

I hope Lee doesn't win this now but goes on from the publicity gained on this show to better and huge things, just like I do Daniel. They both deserve it. They are both way above this sham of a contest and should never have been putted against the dregs that all but one of the other contestants (the exquisitely voiced Keith) represents. As are two of the judges for that matter. What are they doing sullying their West End, Broadway and TV reputations? Mind you, did they know it would turn into this sorry spectacle when the series started?

I think we should all swamp the show, and let him know that he punished the shows merit tonight....that he turned it into a farce....the contestants know that....we all know that......he ruined Lee' s chance.....thats unforgiveable.....if any of the others get Joseph......it wont run for long

I am actually a Lee fan (and having met him once I'd like to say that he's a really down to earth funny guy in case the BBC editing shows something else) but I'd like to say that there's absolutely no way that Daniel should have gone tonight - he totally outsung Lewis. I wonder maybe because Daniel was so good his voters got complacent assuming they didn't need to vote (this is my worry too about Lee). Lewis is a totally 'mummy's boy' and makes me cringe and a semi final with Lee and Daniel would have been fantastic viewing. Once again, wrong decision ALW.

If anyone watched American Idol this past week, there was a similarly astonishing result when Melinda Dolittle was knocked out of the competition. She was by far the best.

It may well be that Daniel and Melinda fans were too confident in these great singers and thought everyone else was voting, and forgot to vote themselves!
