I do agree, Daydream Believer is one of my all- time favourite pop songs.
As for the public being daft enough to give ALW the chance to bounce Daniel out, I still have doubts about that phone line and those engaged tones. The BBC was in the news today over its other phoneline voting and got slated for bad practice. Something very odd remains about the Daniel decision. |

All this is true, Alice.
I just wonder if ALW has a clue about the type of Daniel he really wants on this coming run. Also there were the questions, weren't there about the sexuality of the chosen Joseph, remember? Could it be possible ALW was afraid it'd somehow dent the attraction of his production if the new Joseph turned out to be less than straight and that ALW suspected Dan might be so(however unfounded)? Frankly I don't think folk would care a tinker's curse about the sexual leanings of the lead nowadays. And anyway, Daniel is anything but 'camp', and a lot more virlie seeming than some of the remaining fellows!! And if some of his fellow males fall for him that's hardly his fault..well, not in this context, anyway!! Daniel is an innocent...and the perfect casting for Joseph. If I was going to say anyone was camp, I think ALW himself gives Graham Norton a run for his money (lol)..... Any man who has creative leanings is immediately suspected of being less than straight which doesn't always follow -but whether Daniel is or isn't (and he's definitely not camp) I don't think matters. I really cannot see that ALW would be selective on that basis - surely not Daniel is very talented - he's wonderful to listen to - and watch - and no doubt appeals to everyone on both sides so to speak! Since most of us will never be lucky enough to even have dinner with him I don't suppose it really matters - we'll just keep on dreaming and looking forward to being able to see him in as many shows as possible (and although Tellyaddict disagrees with me ... I think a bit of TV and film work too- if that's lucrative he can then pick and choose his theatre roles)

Alice,
There was a post somewhere about one of the tabloids questioning if the Joseph decision was down to easing out possible gay Josephs...with a pic of Dan holding Lewis' hand after the sing-off. Unfortunately I cannot recall which thread or which tabloid but some of the others might know. Whether they were seriously suggesting this or not it seemed an odd thing to bring up out of nowhere and just because Dan was sweet enough to hold Lewis who was very emotional before and after the decision....while Dan remained incredibly composed and dignified. As for their sexuality I agree I don't like intrusiveness if it makes them uncomfortable...but we're only human and can speculate, or cannot help doing it at times!! Anyway, I'd rather have their respect than their body any day...though bth might be very nice in a context of lifelong devotion!! |

I sincerely hope ALW wouldn't take too much notice of this - especially with JB on his panel! |

I didn't hear about this, although I do remember a thread a little while ago called something like "Which of the Josephs are gay?"

I read one of the posts on youtube by someone claiming to know him who says he is not gay and split up with a girlfriend several months before the auditions for ADWD began - he's just a very nice genuine guy (sometimes that can be mistaken). So who knows (and who cares quite frankly).
Kym You are quite right DANIEL is DANIEL and that is what we all like, his amazing vocal (one that everyone could listen to for two hours!) his genuine warm personality and his looks! - that is all that counts! |

I can't help but think that this is one of the reasons why ALW voted Daniel out last week. I can't believe the public gave him that opportunity. Daniel would have chewed up the set with a song like that and a singing partner like Josh Groban. If Daniel had been there and Josh had "chosen" Lee, I would have fallen about laughing.
The sooner Mr Boys brings out a CD/DVD the better. |

I have heard 'You Raise Me Up' sung live by Daniel, and to say he nailed it is a massive understatement. Not many songs do this but i had shivers down my spine and a lump in my throat. When i saw JG was on and this song was to be sung i nearly hit the roof (and the cat, dog, wife, kids) that should have been sung by Daniel, they should have brought him back just to sing it.
The sooner Mr Boys brings out a CD/DVD the better. Where did you hear him sing You Raise Me Up?? |
