Samsung Digital Camera problem - advice needed!

Hey guys.

I've owned a Samsung Digimax D73 camera for a couple of months now. I took some photos with it the other day when I went out. When I got back home and turned it back on, the LCD display looks to have shot - there's a black smear and some 'colour bars' on the screen, and I can't get a picture. There's no sign of any cracks on *this* side of the screen, so maybe it's an internal crack? I dunno, I'm not a very technical person .

Anyway, the camera (when it wasn't being used) was in its protective case, in my coat pocket, all day. It wasn't subject to any meaningful pressure and it certainly wasn't dropped or mishandled.

I'll be back in the UK soon and just wondered whether you think it'll be covered under the 24 month warranty? It should be because I know that I haven't done anything that could break it, but I'm worried (in my usual way) that the retailer won't accept it and will argue that it's been damaged by me, the purchasor. Just wondered if anyone has any similar experiences or advice they could offer me. Thanks.

Ahh, this is where working at Jessops comes in handy. That is probably a damaged LCD screen and would most likely be covered under the manufacturer's warranty yes.

I mean, we would accept it back
