May have the least experience , but more than held his own against the others on Saturday Night

Great voice, and look, looking forward to hearing him sing a ballad.

I didn't like Rob until Saturday - thought he was too 'simple'. Now he's my second favourite to win. It's amazing how one song can change your opinion of somebody. It will be interesting to see how he works with other songs - or if he will end up being my second favourite for one week only.

He did so well on Saturday, up against all those others who have gone to theatre school etc. He opened the show, wowed everyone, and he enjoyed himself.... he should be really proud of himself.

Was I the only one that felt he was singing slightly above the note at the beginning? Its understandable considering he was first and quite nervous.

Apart from that I enjoyed his performance, but his inexperience will mean he almost definitely won't get the part (going by HDSPM anyway).

Rob is my third favourite.

Good on him for making such a great start to the series. It can't have been easy being the one of the ones with the least experience and least training and having to go on first.

He did a very good job, hoping his lack of experience won't go against him as the show progresses

I thought he was fab too. I love performers that communicate their joy during their act and he did just that, I was smiling with him at the end of the song.

Shame he messed up some of the words, but if anything this will have endeard him to the public more.

I totally agree - he really seems to be enjoying himself. There's something so honest and natural about his performances that makes me love watching him even though he doesn't have the best voice and isn't the best singer. I really want him to do well.

And based on the 'Piano Man' performance, Rob stays my second favourite for another week

Edit: His voice is gorgeous IMO. I actually prefer it to Chris' (nobody get's a comparison with Lewis )

I missed Rob's performance last week and didn't see it till a minute ago when I watched it on youtube. It was really good considering he was first up. I also love the song.

He was my favourite last night, I thought he was great. Love the song Piano Man too lol.

He just seems to be really enjoying himself and that's great. He's my current favourite and I hope he goes far

Have just re-watched his 'Piano Man' performance. Fantastic. It really gave me goosebumps. He is now my second favourite until I state otherwise

Thought his version of pianoman was better than summer of 69, showed his voice to better effect.

I just can't see him as Joseph.

He looks more like 34 than 24 and nice guy and great singer that he is I just don't see it.

He deserves to be on stage certainly but not this part.

Rob is one of the best in this competition. I so think he could make a good joseph.

He would have great fun as pharoah, or as Herod in JC Superstar. Maybe Nicely Nicely in Guys and Dolls. Those kind of character parts which need attack and a big personality.

Thank goodness someone else thinks he looks much older than 24. I have a 25 year old son but next to Rob he'd look about 17! Rob certainly looks near to Seamus in age. Have to agree that his rendition of Piano Man was superb. I love that song and he really did it justice.

Hoping he sings a ballad this week to show off his voice, or even a show tune.
