Does what it says on the tin

Lee's performance on saturday was overall the most rounded, polished and professional. He has all the ingredients to be a Joseph: the vocals, the acting ability, the performance and the looks.

As the most experienced this is to be expected so it will be interesting to see if any of the other Josephs catch him up, once they gain more experience from the show.

Iwouldn't agree that he was the best all-round on the night. I would give that title to Daniel but Lee done very well. In my top 3-4 on the night and out of all of them.

While I agree Daniel was far better vocally, I felt Lee's performance as a whole was a lot better.

I think Daniel needs to show emotion not just in his voice but in his expressions too. Remember that people aren't going to appreciate subtlety at the back of the theatre.

He had real style. He'll go a long way in the competition.

Oooh , a thread after my own heart.

Lee is my winner. He performed well, took some pointed comments in good grace (that bit about not being the best singer) and played to the audience, not the camera.

He has yet to be shown sobbing about his family (somehow, I don't think that is going to happen) and seemed genuinely pleased for Rob when he was told he was going through by ALW in Ireland - even though at that time he didn't know that his own place ws secured.

Mack the Knife was a little toned down I thought, but he has great expression and movement.

Oh, and he is gorgeous and from Essex.

Im rather smitten with Lee - great voice, a good performer and rather dashing too!

Liked how he didn't feel the need to say anything too bad when they all had to name who shouldn't be Joseph, he seems like a nice grounded guy.

Lee should win, he knows how to take the comments and work on them. And how to pace himself. I've a feeling I saw him in Miss siagon. But Joe public will go wrong again this year like last year IMO with the role of Maria's. keep him in and not let the public vote for the ones with the sob stories.

Great performance tonight

I'm not sure if they have any input to their musical choice, but Lee really needs something less dramatic to show his power and control. Although he has been really good so far, I don't think either piece has shown him to best advantage yet.

I would have loved to hear him sing Being Alive. Or Somethings Coming. Boy did Johndeep murder that one.

I'd like to hear him sing "I'll Know" from Guys & Dolls

once again Lee gives one of the strongest performance of the evening.

this week I felt he had a little extra spark and passion which he lacked last week.

Absolutely...... to get an idea of how good these guys can really be, they need to be given some seriously difficult musical theatre, not crappy pop songs. A "Les Mis" night would certainly separate the men from the boys !

They could all begin the show by singing Do you hear the people sing? together. Phew! Lee would sing empty chairs at empty tables beautifully too.

But would be rather unfair as there are only about six male solo songs in that musical (most are ensemble pieces), and two of them are "Bring Him Home" and "Stars" - which would be rather mean to get, say, Keith to sing!

I'd love to get Lee singing "Empty Chairs At Empty Tables", and I'd have to get someone to sing "Why God Why" from Miss Saigon - which is my favourite showtune for a male voice ever

Lee's been my fave since Day One, when he sung "Anthem" in the auditions. He's just got that something about him.

Lee was great tonight - head and shoulders above anyone else.

He acted with his face, not his hands.

First time I've watched the show all through (OH likes Dr Who Confidential!), and I really loved Lee. He has a look of Orlando Bloom, which is always a good thing for me, but it was overall a great performance.

Just one thing annoying me though - both weeks now, when the panel have complimented Daniel and said what a great singer he is, the camera has cut to Lee as if to gauge his reaction.

I too think he was the best. His voice has a lot of interest, a lot of texture and was not bland like some of the others (like Daniel) who are technically perfect but lack that charisma and personality that comes over in the voice. Plus he is so confident performing that he oozes stage presence. I put Keith in second place, because he too has that x-factor over and above a lot of blandness.

I saw this programme for the first time tonight so didn't know what any of them were like and I have to say Lee stood out for me because as well as having a good voice, he could act and was believable - some of them were so OTT - he pitched it just right and I could imagine him playing Joseph.
