Zoes comments last night were 'personal' if you ask me. She the teacher, overruled by the pupil Lee when he gave it hs all durng rehearsals when he was told not too. Sour grapes from her last night. I wonder if she will still agree with her "rubbish" comment after watching the show again? In my eyes there were several unsuitable Josephs, but her choosing Lee made it obvious that she was not speaking from a professonal stance. She was peed off with him I reckon.

She can be peed off at him all she wants - it's SHOWING it, in front of millions of people, that makes it so distasteful and unprofessional. I expected far better from her.

I must confess that it did seem personal. Who knows. But it's obviously coming across as that to many viewers. Hopefully he'll come back from whatever the problem is and belt out a great number next week.

She was pretty negative this week, compared to prevoius shows. According to DS reality news Zoe had a nasty split with her boyfriend this week, which might explain but doesn't excuse her attitude.

A very unprofessional way to conduct herself, she is there to provide constructive criticism not all out attack to destroy their confidence. Perhaps not the most endearing of teachers, give me the nurturing David and Carrie Grant any day.

As for saying Lee was not Joseph, .....did I hear a gasp from the audience?

I didn't even bother trying here yesterday because i thought it would be closed. I wish i had, i really needed to vent my anger

I was absolutely FURIOUS on Saturday night. All in all the songs picked for most of the contestants were terrible . The only one who got a decent number was Keith (and surprise surprise the panel loved him )

Most of them didn't perform well IMO. Yes Keith was good and so were Lee and Daniel. I also thought Craig did well in comparison to the others. Could they have picked worse songs for them if they tried

But Zoe OMG OMG OMG I used to really respect her, but to say what she did to Ben and then tell Lee he was a bit rubbish.........................well words fail me, they really do

I'm still in shock that they praised Ben and then Lee and Daniel got a pasting. They really need to be careful if they want us to take anything they say seriously in future. Do they think we are stupid??

I was so proud of Lee for the way he took it like a man, acted professionally and didn't resort to back chatting the panel. If that didn't tell Zoe something i don't know what would. But noooooooooooo.........she then chooses him as her least favourite. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope things change next week otherwise the show will turn into another joke, just like some of the other reality singing shows where personal agendas are the name of the game.

I want this show to be about the contestants and as ALW said, about nurturing their talent - not bl**dy trashing them with unconstructive criticism

And now we have ALW saying Lee shouldn't have done what he was told to do (sing full-out at the dress rehearsal) and called it a mark of his inexperience. WTF? You want him to take notes or don't you?

OK i was in Joseph when younger (twice, once in the choir, second as Narator) and yes you do do what your told from the ones who have more experience. Its called taking direction.
So why now is it a bad thing that Lee did?

I'm losing faith in the show.

At this rate I wont be going to see any of them in Joseph And its my Favourite show.

Did everyone see the Sun article sayint how Lee stormed off after the first show and went to his family. Not that we would necessarily believe the Sun but it just seems like even more stirring to get people to think Lee is some smug, prima donna - I can't imagine it for a minute - if anything he is insecure.

What has happened to get all this negativity around Lee - he just doesn't look like he would p*** people off.

He knows whats at stake, so i don't think he would get people backs up, but unless we know him we don't know for sure....but i cant see it myself.

Dont worry about the article it soon be yesterdays news. Just like the Keith story was last week.

Storys like this come out during most reality shows, most of them not true. Usually to drum up publicity for the show. We can always just look on the bright side and say at least The Sun thought that it was worthwhile writing an article on Lee.

I agree with the above I think Zoe was very personal towards Lee on Saturday and contradicted ALW's "nuture not torture" philosophy. Very nuturing Zoe - well done. That will do someone with low self-confidence the world of good.

Zoe has never been so personal towards any of the other Joseph's before even when they were completely awful - I do wonder why she was so vicious towards Lee......

It was not his best vocal performance of the series but I think his charisma and stage presence got him through.

Newbie here probably posting what most people have said already but what the heck, here is my 2 cents ....

Lee's performance on Saturday wasn't his strongest and you could tell he had to strain somewhat, however, even with a virus and less than perfect rendition, he still stands heads and shoulders above the rest of the boys.

Everyone of the boys has their strengths and weaknesses and I am not blind to the weaker elements that Lee has to work on ... however it worries me if he doesn't become Joseph as I don't see how any of the remainding Josephs will be able to hold the stage ... at all. If I was Andrew, I would be a bit nervous.

Lee stands heads and shoulders above the rest in decorum, presence and above all musicality - you can't teach that. John hit the nail on the head on Saturday with his comments .. it wasn't the best vocal but he still held it together by his performance.

This post isn't about 'dissing' any of the other Josephs at all as I think they are all incredibly brave and want to succeed just as much ... but I can't see anyone else remotely close to Lee's talents.

I think Lee is a class act and acted very professionally in the face of open hostility and dislike from Zoe. I know its been said before but as a teacher myself (Not music!) I can't believe she would stoop so low as to allow a personal dislike of a student to cloud her judgement. Not a good vocal performance from Lee this week but he is still a star in the making. He was not the worst performer. Even if he doesn't win he will be ok in the future in my opinion. PS a bookie friend of mine who works for one of the biggest bookmakers in the Uk believes this Lee bashing is a ruse and they are adament that Lee is the favourite and will win with or without the panels support. (Bookies are rarely wrong!!!!) just my 3 cents worth......

I've just listened to ALW's podcast doodah thingy. If Lee was told to do something in the dress then who by? If he ignored it would he have been called arrogant? I'm getting irritated by how they're trying to manipulate the boys and manipulate us. I'm not a cretin and if I wished to be patronised there are plenty of other reality shows I could watch. Judging from the comments here and on other fora the person that's come off the worst this week isn't ANY of the boys, it's Zoe. Closely followed by anyone else on the panel, ALW and the producers of this show. If ALW is happy to risk Ben or Craig in this show, then fine. I'm gonna have a GREAT night out of comedy, but I don't think that's the point of Joseph.

Fine - Lee didn't have his greatest week, but that was a ridiculous song choice and he was sick. If Zoe wouldn't have said what she did, nobody would have said anything other than just that. You have to virtually shout the dratted song - it's a total lemon of a number. I stand by my earlier comment that no good teacher would ever behave in the manner Zoe did, reality TV or not.

Of course it is. The BBC is setting him up for onscreen drama now that "official" bad boy Seamus is gone. My cynical side wouldn't be surprised if the judges have been told to be harsher to him than anyone else for that very reason.

I've never watched a reality show before and I never shall again. There's nothing more UNreal than situations like these.

Well, this is it. Another poster spoke about having to show Lee "on a journey" and they're spot on. That's the reality format. If he just turns up every week and belts out a great number then it's not interesting TV. I couldn't care less, but if it is causing the lad undue aggrevation then it's unfair. And if they do want him to be Joseph they had better be careful as it could backfire as well. He could be booted off if the public take a dislike to him. The giveaway if this is a set-up will be if on Saturday they all start a Lee love-in and praise him to high heaven for coming back like a pro from the knock of last week. That's the usual formula.

I definatley think some is manipulating the situation. Personally I can't understand why Rob the builder is still there, and as for Zoe's comment about sending Lee home

Obviously ALW and the panel know who they want as their Joseph, so it's just a matter of making the public vote to get their own way. But I don't see how treatly Lee badly will do anyone any good. The whole thing is becoming a farce but at least has talent and can hopefully continue his career unharmed if the do decide to drive the poor lad out of the competition.

Whether they say it or not, the Maria's were fixed. The same is happing here, but the two the judges seem to want could well be voteed off.

If Lee doesn't get the West End version I'm sure he'll be in the touring version again (!)

If I remember correctly, Connie got some very critical comments at the same time in the Maria series. And then there was that ridiculous army assault course. Noooo, of COURSE that wasn't done for the male viewers to look at the cute girls running around in fatigues. And the camera just HAPPENED to capture a great angle of Lee's arse on the barricade task. Hey, I aint complaining. I'm jus' sayin'.


I don't think they'll drive him out. It seems that he wants the role very much, so it would probably take a lot more. For all we know, he's had a good laugh at The Sun article and has wrapped his fish and chips in it.

John Barrowman admits that straight away on the Maria series he told ALW that Connie was Maria. I'm sure that the panel will have expressed their opinions in a similar way this year. I will not believe that they would risk a West End show being led by a 17 year-old kid, even if they are very talented.

If what is going on online, i.e. look at the number of posts/hits on anything Lee related on all the internet fora covering this show, is replicated in any way in the voting then he's got a pretty big lead. The bookies aren't budging in the odds they're offering either - he's drifting around even money. The only movement since the show on Saturday has been that the odds on Keith are now shorter than on Daniel.


Because the role of Raoul necessitates a performance of that famous ALW song "All Right Now".

Zoe lost all credibility this week IMO, and the rest of them weren't far behind.

One of the things i liked most about this show was that we didn't see the obvious bias and personal agendas that we see on other reality singing shows. I loved the fact that ALW insisted it was about nurturing the contestants, not torturing them.

Then we get Saturdays show, the comments about Lee being rubbish, Daniel being cheesy, and Ben having star quality. Completely ridiculous

Then again my cynical side probably does believe that that was the whole point and the trashing was simply to get our backs up and increase voting revenue.
