No texts?!

Hiya
I recently got a Nokia 7373 on vodaphone and it was perfect until a few days ago. Whenever i send a text no one recieves it. Also i dont recieve texts people send me. I use my phone mostly for texting and theres no point in having a phone if i cant send/recieve texts. I'd take it back to the phone shop but i dont know where the recipt is, so i dont think they will fix it. I paid almost £200 for this phone i will be devastated if i wasted all that money on a faulty phone!!!

There can be a number of reasons why texts aren't being sent and received on your phone. You may have accidentally changed the message centre number (the number your messages actually go to before being forwarded to your intended recipient). These are the instructions from vodafone's website about how to check and change your message centre number for your phone.

Press "Menu".
Scroll to Messaging. Press "Select".
Scroll to Message settings. Press "Select".
Scroll to Text messages. Press "Select".
Scroll to Message centres. Press "Select".
Scroll to Add centre. Press "Select".
Scroll to Message Centre name. Enter Vodafone.
Scroll to Message Centre no. Enter +447785016005
Scroll to Save. Press "Select".
Press "Yes".

However, if you are unable to receive messages (the above is for messages failing to send, an incorrect message centre number doesn't stop you from receiving messages), it may be that there is a network issue, something that seems to be happening a lot a vodafone at the mo. Other things worth trying are sending a free text to 9770 - you'll get a message back if it works, or trying your sim card in another vodafone phone to try to establish if the fault is linked to the phone, sim, network, your number on the network or your settings in your phone.

sounds more like a network problem rather than specifically the phone. Id check all your message settings as jim suggested.

Make sure the person you are sending to doesn't accidentally have your number in their block list (trust me it happens!).

Only really applicable if they have a Samsung D500/600/800/900 or a Nokia 1112/1600/2600

Why do you always have such terrible problems with everything?

Losing the receipt is just careless.

Hi blinginbunni

Are you still having the problem? And have you tried putting your SIM into another handset? Doing that will tell you whether the problem is phone or network related
