Ipod Keeps Dying
Jennysquirrel

Hi all, just wondered if anyone can help me with a problem ive been having - every so often when i've run my ipod (video, 30gb) right down it won't charge again. It's just not recognised on my pc, nothing happens when I plug it into USB. Ive tried the steps on the apple website (all but starting all over again and resetting everything) and they don't really help. Normally I've got around this by trying plugging it in to a different pc and that's often woken it up again but this time it hasn't and i'm running out of pcs to try it on! It would be great if anyone could help! Many thanks!

tried the obvious? Don't run it comptely down. And try using a wall charger, rather than using a USB port. Also it depends on the USB port you use, back ones tend to give a better charge than front.

Yeah i won't in future! I thought I'd solved the problem by using a different PC but it hasn't worked this time. My main usb is on the side of my laptop and all the ones i've tried on PCs have been on the front but I'll try the back. I don't have a wall charger but might have to try and get one. Thanks.

Try MpegStreamclip.
It is dual platform now. Has an Ipod button on the mpeg4 output page.

Brilliant software from SlySoft to do this

http://www.slysoft.com/en/

AnyDVD - required to overcome copy protection that stops you copying your own DVD's

CloneDVDMobile that converts DVD's to the right format for various mobile devices including Ipod, PSP and some phones.

You get a trial period(15 days I think) to see what you think before paying. Once paid for you get free updates for ever. Really worth while and I can get loads of TV progs and movies onto my 30gb Ipod fantastic IMO
