Nintendo DS Lite- is it worth buying one in the USA?

Last year I bought my son a PSP in the US. I had read the Sony blurb about them not region coding games for it, only to then read their excuse that, whilst they would not use region coding they had no control over what games manufacturers would do.

Can I ask if games are region coded for Nintendo DS Lite? They are a lot cheaper here, but I don't want to make the same mistake again and find I can't buy games when I get back to the UK.

Thanks in advance all.

the DS itself has no region coding, you can play any games from any country on it
