Winners Prizes - not up to much !
The prizes seem a bit poor to me, especially compared to the US version. I'd say they're a bit embarrassing to the UK.
Tonight they got to go bowling. Next week he'll give them tickets to see Sunshine down the Odeon, and tell them not to hold back on the popcorn. Does Sir Alan pay for the prizes himself ? (I hope not, or they'll all get a dozen emailers each next week ). I think the prizes should be the sort of things that money can't buy. Unique experiences and opportunities. Some of the ones I remember from the US version ... a luxury meal on a boat with Steve Forbes flying in, cash to spend in Tiffanys when the store was closed to the public, Zero gravity on the vomit comet. Not Bowling ! |

We don’t even have to talk about the American version last season and the one before had really nice prizes. Maybe they have broke the piggy bank or something

^ yeah, thats true.
We didn't see much of the bowling either. Maybe because they have more contestants they want to keep their costs down, or maybe they have run out of ideas. It does seem pathetic though, I love the slick/glossy/stylised shots of London. Surely there's better experiences to be had than Bowling !! I don't even believe it was a celeb's hangout (well maybe Kerry Katona, Peter Andre or Chantelle etc). Any decent place wouldn't need or be after this sort of publicity. And Sir Alan worries that people go on the show just to get famous Last edited by minimalistmatt : 18-04-2007 at 22:28. |
