Your post is confusing.
If your phone is blocked, you can get the code for free from Vodafone to unblock it. This happens when you've entered the wrong PIN. If you phone is locked, meaning you cannot use another network's SIM card, then the Vodafone shop CANNOT do this. It can be done at independant shops or Vodafone may give you the code for free over the phone if you've had the phone for over 12 months. |

my pay as you go phone, will only work with the vodafone sim, i have been to a local ind shop , to be told that he cannot un lock it, so it is sim free.
he told me that the vodafone shop can only make the phone sim free, with a charge of £20. so i went to the local shop, and i was told that they will charge the fee, providing they have the code, if they do not have the code, then the shop will have to send away for it, and this will take three weeks, ps my phone is not contract, and i have bought it 4 months ago. |

You can ring Vodafone Customer Service and get the code over the phone, they will either take £20 from your calltime or from a debit/credit card. This is unlocking, not unblocking
They are two different things.
