So you see. They all disappeared after the time war, but the weapons in the war were so powerful that they removed the Time Lords and Daleks from not just that point, but the whole of time.

Which makes sense if you think about it. If you're fighting time travellers there's no point in just killing them, because if one survived (ie the doctor) he could travel back and warn them to leave that time period. You need to find a way to wipe them from time and space without necessarily taking their actions out of the timeline. Which means any survivors would also still exist regardless of the fact their entire race died.

Who knows how they'll bring the Time Lords back (and I believe they will at some point) but I'm sure they'll think of something.”

They could be stuck in an alternate timeline like Rose.

Yes but if that was the case and they had been removed from time itself, the remaining species in the Universe would have no knowledge of either the Time Lords or the Daleks existence.

I do understand they did not just destroy each other in three dimensional space but were erased from time as well, but that does not change the fact of my previous point.

I was very impressed with the concept presented in this thread that they played cat and mouse thought time changing and undoing each others modifications of time itself, until the only way was to eliminate them both in a time war.

I have no problem with the writers adding new elements to the show, I just object to them ruining existing well established elements and ignoring the long term fans feelings. If they bring back the Time Lords in a sensible way I will be happy with the Time War scenario.

David Tennant said the doctors not wrong but the face of Bo is not lying so I hope the ghastly, the doctor and Martha have a baby and it becomes Bo scenario is not what RTD has dreamed up. That would be ridiculous, akin to the Battlestar Gallactica gets back to earth and go's back in time to fight the Nazis one.

There are now two sets of fans old ones and new ones. I accept it has to appeal to a new generation but the legions of long term loyal fans should be respected as well.

BTW: The real fear factor with the Dalek was like being in a room with a King Cobra it was fast, dangerous, unpredictable and could kill with one strike and thats what created the fear factor. Remember the second Tom Baker encounter, when the Daleks came out of no where and tore through that plastic wall and cornered the trapped humans screeching away. That what made Daleks scary.

Have to admit the whole idea of Martha and the Dr shacking up is a pretty ghastly one - the Dr as a daddy just does not appeal.

Just trying to think around the face of bo's statement as to how the Dr is not alone???

Can't wait to find out though.

I might have imagined this but am not sure - in the last two episodes of series two the Dr gets hung up on the words laurenzi or something that sounded similar to this anyway when he was taken captive in Torchwood.

In 'Daleks in Manhatten' is this written above the theatre??

Could this be a 'Bad wolf' style thread, or have i just mis-heard/ mis read it???
