Orange did quite well in a survey on this very forum, they even beat Vodafone!

I've snipped your tale about CS, but there's nothing wrong with the 6310i!! I'm still using my 3G U-SIM with one and have been ever since I was given a 3G SIM (don't ask!!)... it's quite possible the best phone ever made, if you want a "mobile telephone" and not a "device".

I also carry a Vodafone PAYG handset as a second mobile, mainly because of Stop the clock, which I just use at weekends. I got the SIM 5 years ago and have not topped it up for over 2 years, but I still have about £8 in credit on it. Voda must hate users like me, lol.

Absolutely right. Brilliant signal and I can't remember when I last recharged it.

Today I called Orange's CS and RECEIVED an attitude. I do not share your view. Orange are a nightmare and I could kick myself for having ever gone near them.

I thought your problem was with CS. No mention of poor signal in your original 2 posts, i detect sour grapes.

I must admit Ive had no problems with Orange, been with them for years now, onto my 5th handset with them I think. Had no problems with coverage. Everytime I upgrade I get a good deal.

Havent even had problems with CS. My phone developed a fault one morning, phoned them at 2am (I was night shift) and a new handset was couriered out to me by 6pm

Trust me go out and ask 3 people what company they hear is the worst for signal and it will be orange.

1) Are you talking to Jesus or the other people in this thread?

2) Orange certainly isn't "known in general" for "low signals".

3) There's no need to shout and call people fools.

See my post on this thread dated 27.5.

My choices are based on financial considerations firstly, then network availablity in my area, then network services available, customer services pretty much come last. Right order most people would agree?

I;m with Tmobile for pretty much the same reasons as they are best value for money for me, the network availablitiy in my area is very good, network services arent really an issue as I only text, ive always found tmob cs the best IMO but I dont hardly ever need them anyway.

I know there isn't anything wrong with the 6310i - I still have two, bought sim-free, currently on Vodafone and T-Mobile.

The point I was trying to make was that all my other phones have been unreliable or troublesome and in order to use up my credit I often felt like putting all my SIMs in the only phone I could still rely on to work long enough to use it all up.

The problem with Orange's 3G and data got worse but I won't go on about that, it only took a week for reliable service to resume. If only I could un-subscribe from their newsletters. Two e-mails to Orange support regarding this have so far gone un-answered.

I'm not surprised at all!! To my mind, phones are getting silly since a long time. If I want to take photos, I've got a digital camera for that. If I want to play music, I use my iPod. If I want to watch TV, I sit on my sofa. I want my phone to make phone calls and sent text messages. In the 5 or so years since having a 6310i, I've yet to find a phone that does the basics, as well. Which is why I still use one and have spares waiting for when it dies!

The main reason I upgraded to a 'latest' model was that certain WAP sites no longer worked. Some WAP pages were too big for the 6310i to display and I found it impossible to read my e-mail in the way I wanted as it has no POP client and my mail providers WAP interface was too big for the 6310i to display due to the number of folders I have created. So I'm in two minds about modern phones. Yes, the camera in my K800i has come in useful but I have yet to use the MP3 player. The speed increase when browsing on 3G is also very useful (when it works which it often doesn't around 0700 when I need it).
