Yeah - not a big fan of the hybrids. - The darleks are much more scary, plainly because you don't see their face.

Daleks are metal things, shaped like a pepper pot, get around on castors, have irritating voices, I do believe there may be a sink plunger attatched to them too, they love barking orders and the top dalek is davros.

No - BBC do not own the concept or the name. Just changing the look wouldn't help them.

That's what I was thinking too! Terry Nation's Estate owns the IP on the Daleks, although the design is owned by the BBC if I'm not mistaken! The joys of shared copyright.
