I agree with you to a certain extent. I am sure that worked this last Christmas but it is the story that is important. If it is bad and lots of people have watched it then the fewer people will tune into the next episode or any further ones..

personally Jason Donovan isn't the right type to be next Doctor Who, however I'm hoping David Tennant remains as The Doctor for several more seasons.. I'm hoping BBC will hire young Doctor...like they did hired Peter Davison in 1981 he was only 29 at time.. David is currently 36 & he's gorgeous for his age... so Jason Donovan wouldn't be my choice as next doctor in my opinion.... Perhaps Capt Jack could be Doctor's son or Time Lord himself mmmm as he seem has knowledge of time traveling like The Doctor does...
