I don't know Lula, maybe they will sing something else as the final song like 'any dream will do' as its the show title? Just guessing though really.

Still Chris C for me as i felt emotional and brought a tear to my eye and because we could see how good he was at MT and therefore left me wanting to see more of him.

I also found Daniel's exit emotional as well.

Neither was anything to write home about really.

Yes, that was funny. Whatever anyone thinks about Seamus, his exit was certainly the most dramatic!

I still remember Chris B's finale, combining attractive tonal quality, impeccable diction (unlike some of them) and inflecting the vocal line with emotion through his excellent dynamic control, from lovely soft singing through a great crescendo effect to the big note, and occasionally dipping into his burnished lower voice. Not flawless, but a terrific performance. I never thought he'd win (largely for non-musical reasons) but wish he'd had a better showcase than the unsuitable dance numbers he was mostly lumbered with.

I keep getting my Chrises mixed up, I'm afraid.
Was it Chris B., Pasta, who sang Walking in Memphis? Great performance. I do like your cogent analysis/descrpition of your Chris' final exit...but I have to say Daniel's was the utterly outstanding one for me. I think my mother thought I was totally losing my marbles getting so moved by it I could barely speak I was so choked !!!

Daniel's was by far the best and most emotional imo, but Seamus's was by far the funniest! I know he took a lot of criticism for it but I thought "good for you, mate"........I always thought there was some very suspect editing - to say the least - when it came to poor old Seamus....

Hi ewan - yes, that was Chris B. Daniel's performance was great, no doubt, but more expected. Chris had had to cope with unsuitable Billy Joel and Lionel Ritchie up-tempo numbers, which sent him barrelling out of the contest, and his exit moment just gave a sense of what he could do given the chance, with some of the usually absent 'nurturing' ALW keeps waffling about..

Aye, you're right there, Pasta. 'Nurturing' the ALW way leaves a LOT to be desired! I wonder, now, if they very cleverly picked on Seamus from the start to get rid of him by his losing the Public's sympathy?

Mind you, in a you, in a way he made it easy for them! Seamus WAS a bit of a diva and when you think about it, taken in the round, his whole contribution actually bordering on the hilariously camp, in what some folk see as an innately very camp show!! I did love the way he protested about 'conspiracy' as he got shuffled off by lowest votes and ALW!! Sadly I cannot really recall how the final song went but it sounded a hoot!! Hope in a way Seamus' unconscious talent for comedy will land him parts!! And he WAS a looker, that nice blend of cute/mature!!

Yeah, every now and again ALW seems to just pull off one of these total turnarounds. For the first two weeks he was totally thrilled with Chris B, saw him (I think) as a potential winner, threw a complete hissy fit when the public had him in the bottom 2. Then a few weeks later, he was out on his ear, ALW telling him he couldn't handle the pressure. He did this on Maria too (particularly with Siobhan, but to a lesser extent with Leanne.)

I don't know why he changed his mind, because I didn't think Chris's performances were notably worse after he was in the singoff and no matter how many tears Chris B shed, Lewis has shed more and ALW doesn't seem bovvered.

None of those other guys could touch Daniel he was by far the VERY BEST. Not to be forgotton! His star shone through!

and Lee and Seamus! daniel lee and seamus, all the 3 most talented by far. seems absurd that on a show that is supposed to be about talent, that only 1 of the 3 most talented is still there! proves some people vote for other reasons rather than who performs the best or is the most talented.

No it wasn't - he was a pillock - just because he got voted out he rebelled - no thought for anyone else including the audience - he just wanted to make a statement. Well he has - goodbye Seamus - see you at the car wash!

If you read my post again, you'll see that wasn't my point, as dramatic doesn't imply good - I just loved the way they had to wrestle him for the coat!

Though as it happens, I still think Seamus would be a better bet for this part than most of those left.

oh, I very much doubt if Daniel Boys is ever allowed to fade back into obscurity after even the limited exposure this programme allowed of his beautiful singing and personality!
Of the 'departed ones' he seems to have the most tenacious fanbase (I'm shamelessly one of them!) I'm still CONVINCED Dan would be the ideal Joseph, a role that'd suit him down to the ground.

However I hope ALL the others get good things out of it, however ill-suited they may have been for Joseph.
In particular, I do hope that drama queen, Seamus will pop up again on our screens...he had a very good voice, nice looks and I bet he'd be so overweeningly confident he could not but be entertaining to be around! And at 35 he needs his break more than the others. Does he have his own website?

I think that both vocally and emotionally, Daniel's exit song was by far the best. He did not sing out of tune, but deliberately changed a couple of notes at the end, to great effect.

I liked Daniel a lot, but something about his finale disturbed me. I just dont think he handled going out well at all...

Daniel's ending was definitely great, but he wasn't in tune at the beginning.

I have to say it's a great song to go out on and they all seem belt it out with gusto. But for me it was Daniels very emotional exit especially after the wonderful 'Bring him Home' sing off.

I disagree. I thought he was great all things considered. As he said in his podcast, when it was announced that he would he be in the sing-off with Lewis he knew he wouldn't be saved. I thought he was really composed and polite.

Yes, Kym, I agree. I think he realised ALW had it in for him all along. Inexplicable of ALW but knowing that must have made it doubly hard for Daniel who still managed to handle it with consumate skill and innate grace....proving ALW got it very wrong.
