But they all seem to think that they're going to go home when they're in the sing off. Lewis said "Don't worry, Daniel," before they sang with a certain air of resignation, and when Ben found out he was staying over Seamus he was really shocked. The only person who seemed to be surprised to have gone was Seamus.

I mean, I do think ALW probably wasn't Daniel's greatest fan, and he was unnecessarily harsh when Daniel left, but that Daniel "knew he was going" isn't really that much of a deal, because they're all quite pessimistic, and if Daniel or Lewis had gone, they'd have both been convinced they were going beforehand.

Back to the topic of the thread: I think Chris C's was probably the best exit for me, because it was so much better than the other songs he'd sung that night, and I was really sorry to see him go. (On reflection, a good thing, because now I love Ben. Don't you think they look quite similar?)

I quite liked Daniel's as well, but I think that was the first week when it became really evident that there weren't many other Josephs left, and only having a couple singing made it feel a bit...empty.

I think on balance Daniels Close Everydoor, may have been better than Chris C. But by the time Daniel left we knew he was pretty darn good, but it came as such a shock when Chris gave such a great exit performance, it made more of an impact.

Also I felt Chris' was more 'Joseph-like', Daniel is fantastic but I didn't see him as Joseph (then again none of the final four are perfect fits either). When you think about it Chris was exactly what ALW claims he is looking for, and he showed he could act and sing MT well too, shame he didn't last longer.

Apart from Chris C and Daniel I think Rob and Chris B also had great exits.

I've just watched all the exits on the BBC site and youtube.

Overall, Chris B's was the best for me. Some of the ones that seemed quite good at the time because of all the emotional stuff were actually more out of tune than I remembered. Apart from the out of tune beginning, I thought Daniel's was excellent.

I agree with your Chris C analysis Jocko Homo. His is still the best exit song for me. What a surprise his voice was and it makes me sad that we didn't get to see more of him in the show.

My second choice would be Craig who once again showed his emotional, vulnerable side. He really moved me

Daniel gave by far the best exit rendition of "close every door" though on Saturday Ben gave his best and came over as a mature performer. Ben was good!

For pure entertainment, it has to be Seamus!

Seamus or daniel.

i think Ben's exit was amazing...he was mature and took it like a man. Even during cloe every door he had charisma and stage presence, he showed up as the true star he is.

And while some ben-haters will go on about the duff note, i think its fair to say that they all miss a few notes. Its to be expected i would say. I think Bens performance showed how good he would have been in the role of Joseph, and i hope ALW realised the mistake he made because if we see Lewis singing it on saturday, i'm pretty sure it wont be nearly as good.

I don't see how him missing notes can possible prove that he would have been good in the role! he couldn't handle the song, there for not right for the role. although, i do think he is a decent enough actor, and with more training, would prob be good in a non singing role.

thats true, nearly all of them cracked on notes and went out of tune- even Daniel. Bens wasn't worse than anyone elses. It's hardly suprising considering the highly emotional atmosphere.

None of the exits have been perfect but many of them have been fantastic IMO.

I'd say it goes:

Daniel
Chris C
Antony

I was utterly gutted watching Daniel's, and him being fantastic just made it worse! Chris C was a complete surprise, and the minute he finished I just thought "no, let him stay!". I thought Antony lived up to his potential, right at the end too.

I agree none of them have been perfect, but some have been a lot better than others. Daniel was quite out of tune at the beginning of his, but once he got back on track I thought it was fab. I think Chris B was probably the best overall, plus Seamus's was quite fun... Ben was unfortunately too out of tune for me to notice much else!

Still say the best exit song was Chris C and as someone already mentioned perhaps that was the shock of seeing how good he was. plus Ben crying made it even more emotional for me.

I dont think we can say who could not be Joseph from an exit song. They have just lost their dream which they have worked so hard towards. Must be really hard although ben said he wasn't emotional because he was concentrating on hitting that last note (shut up Cleo please) . Don't forget they wouldn't be singing that as Jospeh under the same pressure. They would be singing it as joseph every night

Loved Chris Cs exit it was the first and really unexpected how good he was , Seamus was really entertaining and made great TV , but for me Chris Bs was the best it was a controlled lovely performance.

That did give me a chortle . Have to say its nice these days not to have to defend Daniel every 5 mins from Cleo's relentless pursuit! . I'm sure now that Ben has left, she will turn her attention to Keith or Lewis

Back on topic, i have to say that Daniels exit left me in floods of tears after his breathtaking sing off. Still pissed with ALW for questioning if anyone would listen to him for over 2 hours

Daniel's exit was just amazing. I was also in tears when while he was singing. I can't believe that ALW questioned if he could be listened to for 2 hours
I could listen to him easily, unlike Lewis or even Keith, who, to be honest, I think I'd get a bit bored of after a about 20 minutes
I did also love Seamus' exit, although more for the amusing taking off of the coat than the singing... Absolutely hilarious - I was in fits

Completely agree....I still can't rewatch that sing off

I do think Chris C's exit was very good as well, but don't you all think that it was partly due to the shock factor.....I don't think any of us actually expected them to have the coats ripped off their backs like that, and that made it very emotional.

I totally agree about Chris C's exit. I was so stunned by the whole thing that I found it really emotional and at the time thought he sung brilliantly. When I watched it back the other day, it wasn't anything that special - I think the novelty had a lot to do with it!
