I think seeing Matt on Hustle makes you realise just how badly written for he was on EE.

I agree. His role in EE was terrible....

Ironically I think this has worked to his benefit. Hes prob more famous for SCD and Hustle now, and the character of Deano hasnt become an albatross around the neck, which is a fate for so many ex EE actors...

I remember a scene where Deano attcked Sean with an iron bar just because he was seeing his sister. I think this scene said it all really. It was completely ridiculous, he could have killed Sean, no one would behave like that, but it was directed almost as if it was comedic

They just seemed to use Deano to do something completely ridiculous to give his Dad and Sister a headache. Soon the audience tires of that crap, It was nice he at least got a halfway grown up storyline with him going to jail though.

Matt still got a lot out of EE though despite all this so I'm sure isn't complaining

Yeh I agree, he has successfully become other characters rather than just Deano.

Hes always been extremely polite and positive about his time on EE, which is to his credit, despite the fact that his character was sidelined and given crappy storylines.

Its not a wise move to diss EE as Jack Ryder and Mo George have discovered...
