Buster and Shirley telling Dean that Stan has died and then Shirley rushing out of prison because she can't see Dean struggling like he is.

Oh okay yes I have seen those. Not surprising he's having a tough time if what we think happened before actually happened. Not that many people will feel much sympathy of course.

Going by spoilers I'm also presuming he doesn't get charged which I guess is why Linda tries to get him to see what he's done.

I do wonder what their plan is with Dean.

Tbh I'm disgusted how hated the actor is because of this storyline. The character I get but Matt has so much to give on the show and he is a far better actor ;and character) then Danny dyer/mick Carter. He shouldn't of been made the rapist. I hope he kills mick off tbh

I agree. I'm not a fan of Mick as a character or Danny as an actor either. Seems a shame that they brought Matt back just to give the Carter's yet another storyline. More likely that Mick kills Dean off and noone will care because of course Dean is evil and Mick is wonderful.

Happy 1 year anniversary of Dean!

Apparently Linda and Dean have a confrontation and he admits that he raped her.

I only hope he doesn't admit it in a cruel way and taunt her like Finn O Connor/Frank Foster. I really don't want Dean to become evil or one dimensional.

Dean being devastated over Stan's death and attending the funeral is hopeful as it means that he retains some sense of humanity.

I would prefer a breakdown and sectioning but who knows which way this will go. Maybe the actual admission will serve as closure and both Linda and Dean will be able to move on from what happened.

I've read that Dean wavers but then Mick comes in and stops the conversation. I don't think he actually confesses.

I have to say, what on earth have they done with Dean's hair? It looks awful!

Felt sorry for Dean tonight. I know it's his own fault he's in prison but he was genuinely devastated about Stan's death. At least he got to see him before he died though he shouldn't have given him whisky in his condition.

The prison scene was odd. Is there a point to him being scared?

I think it was another way of breaking the stereotypes surrounding rape and rapists.

Obviously Dean needed to know that Stan had died and had the right to be told and it's not surprising that h is struggling in prison especially given the nature of the crime he committed.

Unfortunately British prisons require a degree of toughness in order to cope but that's because of the whole judgemental mentality of criminal = monster whatever the circumstances and the fact that most prisoners are quite hardened, though it's ironically the environment that makes them so. look at how different Dean was before he went to prison the first time.

It's good to show that Dean can be a criminal and can also be vurnerable. It's just problematic that his particular crime is so shocking. There are some posters/viewers who are even prepared to write off/ignore Dean's genuine distress over Stan dying purely on the grounds that he raped Linda. Don't get me wrong - I am shocked and horrified that Dean could do something so barbaric but I'm not defining the character solely in terms of the crime - I am able to look past the crime in this instance and acknowledge when he shows a good/vurnerable side.

Going by twitter, Matt's hair has grown out so I don't think we will have to see it like that for much longer I liked it when I first saw it on the live aftermath show, but I think along with the horrible grey number he was wearing, it's not a good look.


So, Dean is not going to be charged. Have you seen the script peek?

If Linda, Matt, Tameka and Richard are all on the same buggy, I wonder if they will be having a scene together? I suppose it would make sense as Kim lives with Shirley and Dean, so Vincent will probably go to the B & B.
