Yeh it's very interesting the way Dean's being written. I love that we still see the consistency with Dean's upbringing. It's never far away from the surface with Dean and Shirley.

Some All About Soap spoilers have been posted in the main forum and the preview for the week after states "Dean faces an emotional time".

What could this be about? Even if it's Roya, "an emotional time" doesn't fit with him meeting her. Could he be kept away from her? Even then it's an odd sentence for that.

We know now that it refers to Dean breaking down in the salon in Buster's arms. It's such a shame he's messed his life up the way he did.

A year ago, a scene like this would have been brilliant.

I quite liked the scene between Dean and Buster. I can't help thinking Dean was being genuine when he told Buster that there was something wrong with him and that he needed to be punished - Buster obviously suspects now that Dean did attack Linda. I also think that what Dean said about him not abandoning his family the way Shirley did hers was quite true.

I watched the show for the first time in ages tonight and I thought Matt, Linda and Karl were excellent!

I also agree. Buster now knows but I still don't think Dean fully realises himself...but he's beginning to.

The scenes in Blades were very good.

Matt was excellent tonight, especially the scenes in Blades.

Matt has signed another 12 month contract!!!

This means Dean will probably be on our screen still April 2016.

Not sure about whether he'll stay on beyond that. Matt seemed to indicate in his interview with What's on TV mag that he'd like to try other stuff, so we will have to wait and see what comes after 2016!

It will be interesting to see what DTC has planned

I agree-he has links with most of the major families in EE now, he has potential for years! I think the Dean storylines will hot up now & come to a head around Christmas/New Year.

The question is- will Dean remain in the show after then?? Personally I think NO!!

Not a surprise as Dean leaving has been foreshadowed on EE for a while now.
I think they'd taken Dean as far as he could go. He's irreversibly a baddie now & they ALWAYS have a limited shelf life.

Personally I have mixed feelings, I will miss Matt on TV every week, but also I'm pleased he now has new opportunities. The stuff he does in the future could be even better than EE so let's not get too disheartened.

I can't believe how much they've ruined Dean. 21 months ago I was so happy that Dean was returning. Now I'm quite glad Matt has the freedom for other roles.

I agree Sez. At least if the storyline had been done well it would have justified it, but I don't think it has been.

I wonder if Matt has finished filming already? His tweets suggest he's been enjoying himself socially, going to American Footy etc

Matt seems to be featuring heavily in Eastenders next week.

I hope this forum gets busier in the next few weeks as Dean's story comes to the fore.
