i never heard of the rumour untill that interview with matt either.
i suppose in hollyoaks the actor that plays john paul hasnt quit since his gay storyline, but todd in corrie quit after he got a gay storyline.
I really doubt matt would quit though.
i wonder what his next storyline will be though...he said it was interesting, or he may have just been saying it to make people watch lol

It was just rumour that's been going round...there is nothing solid to say they are gonna make him gay. I heard it a while ago and then again in that interview...Matt didn't seem to know anything about it....but said he wouldn't have a problem with it.

I like him as a useless with girls straight guy, but I guess I would like him as a useless with boys gay guy too lol. There are enough guys on screne atm that can pick up girls on a whim....be nice if they kept that part of his personality the same.

I think some straight guys handle attention from gay men better than others and other actors just don't want to be typecast....those are the only two reasons I can think of for an actor to leave because he's given a gay role, James Sutton was hired from what I believe to play a gay role...Matt wasn't. Not sure about Todd.

I have no idea on his next storyline...should be good tho.

Hello fellow Deano lovers! I doubt Matt Di Angelo would leave if they did make his character gay. As he said in that interview, he wouldn't have a problem with it and he didn't say anything in that interview about being afraid of being typecast. I doubt this gay storyline will happen though, its possible but Matt hasn't heard anything about it. His next storyline sounding interesting sounds good though, i just hope it's nothing as lazy as him getting with Chelsea.

I don't know which way they will go with Deano tbh...I don't think it's Chelsea tho, they just don't go well together...and she's with Sean. Girls who go for Sean imo would not go for Deano.

Yep, i think that Craig Dean is just jealous of JP spending time with Spike though, he's lost one of his true only friends and wants him back. I think he wants to experiment with JP so he knows where his true feelings lie. He's never had much luck with girls either, just like Deano.

I agree about Chelsea, Sez. Deano can't be attached to his family all the time, he needs to branch away from them so he can develop his individuality.

I like that idea. Seeing the real Deano is an essential. Since he has arrived on the Square, we've always had hints about him and Jimbo being really good brothers, as well as good friends and how much his death has effected him. It will be a nice storyline to see Deano move on from the tragedy, and start having some fun, seeing the real him.

The Mitchell sisters are apparently going to be in their 30s, so they could be possibly out of Deano's league. I'm not sure about Deano becoming Dean. I quite like his name being Deano.

Just been reading about Deano maybe questioning his sexualility, dont know if I can see it but I can see Shirley wondering. No doubt she will notice his lack of female attention. I can see her asking if he,s gay! weve already had Pat making a joke and one of the girls saying he was almost a girl at the wedding. He could start wondering whats wrong with him. On a different note what about Deano and Ben becoming friends they both like swimming but both wont go for their own reasons. Deano could be persuaded to take ben swimming. Develop a brotherly relationship over time and Deano could uncover the abuse. Just an idea!!

Hey again Deano fans! I agree with you Fran that i think Shirley might at one point question Deano's sexuality. I would like to actually see an episode between the two where Shirley confronts Deano about his sexuality and they both have a heart to heart about it, and Deano admits he isn't so sure, and Shirley gives him advice, telling him to follow his heart etc. Maybe a two hander episode, i think it would be really nice.

Also i like your idea of Deano uncovering Stella's abuse of Ben, it'll get him involved a bit more.

I really like the idea of Deano becoming involved in the Ben/Stella storyline, but I can't see it happening...not at the moment anyway. I do think Shirley will be the one, if anyone, to influence Deano into looking at himself and wondering. I do like Shirley, but I think she can be very horrible at times, and this could be one time where it shows

I think that Shirley's softer side might actually come out if she ever had a heart to heart with Deano regarding his sexuality. I can imagine her showing her sympathetic side and giving Deano advice on how to tackle the situation. This will be good for the character of Shirley as a nice side to her character will be shown.

Yeh possibly. You never know with Shirley! I do want her to be more mumsy to Deano so this could be the right way to go about it

I think EE have exhausted the whole Shirley/Kevin as parents fiasco- I hope Deano gets a new storyline and is able to show what a good character he can be

They may keep Deano straight..nothing is set in stone. If they do I think it might be good for him to have an affair with one of the Mitchel sisters. I'm sure they could teach him a thing or two....Mrs Robinson style lol.

Nooooooo! Deano needs to be a man. He needs a good relationship or some storyline that can show that he is a person rather than a doormat and can stick up for himself

i think the Ben/Stella storyline sounds good. It will show Deano's caring side aswell.
i also really like the opening up to shirley one as it will benefit both characters. i really want him to have a good storyline! lol
