pioneer 530 problems with dvd-rw
imagineers
24-04-2007
I have just started having problems when initializing or finalizing dvd-rw on the 530. It can take ages to initialize and sometimes gives errors (cant complete initializing, cannot fix error). If I try again then it can let me initialize the dvd-rw but I have thrown a couple away that wouldn't work. Then it can take more than one go to finalize the dvd-rw.

Has anyone else had this happen with the 530?

I am using quite new datawrite dvd-rws which have given no trouble until recently. I hope it isn't a sign of the 530 on the way out!

I've had some trouble with one of my Pioneer machines with how they deal with dvd-rws. However, after lots of frustration I figured out that some dust had gotten into the burner and after I used an "invisible air duster" (i.e. pressurised air) to clear it out these problems stopped.

You may, of course, have a different problem, but so far this has worked for me. I've had no more problems.

Good luck!

Thanks!

I think the 'dust' option could be the answer. Had the 530 since august 05 and never 'blasted' the dvd drive it out!

I havent had a PC for over a year so got out of the maintenance habit.

Will get some air duster and see what happens.

Cheers!

Great news!

Back to normal, good as new!

Gave it a blast and some crap got blown out (can't imagine how it got in there), and now its like new.

Sometimes the simplest answers are the less obvious ones to those of us with big brains but no common sense!!!

Cheers!

Glad to hear it worked! It took me a while to work it out, but now I've had no
problems for a while.
