I feel there needs to be one of these!

I love him, and I don't actually think his attitude matters.

Discuss?

Well done for starting this. He's not my favourite but he's well up my list and I think they are giving him a raw deal so far. He's very cute and very talented.

Yay! Someone agrees he's cute!

Must be the hair.

I think he's extremely cute. I was thinking of starting this thread but thought I'd just be talking to myself.
I reckon he's getting a raw deal, too, but he's also got to wake up and stop giving them ammunition. If he can just play nice with the others I really think he'd be good as Joseph. He's a good singer, a decent actor (from what we've been shown), and he certainly looks the part IMO.

As he says though, it isn't in his nature. I believe him when he says it's some clever editing as well!

I don't know why John is so bothered, I've been on stage in the company and we didn't need to be led because we were rehersed and proffesional enough to lead ourselves.

I'm sure that they don't all get along as nicely as they would have us believe, Rob v Keith showed us that and yet the judges didn't mention it!

Oh I am so glad someone started one for him. I was thinking if I did I might get shouted at or something.

I think he is an excellent performer. I don't think he has an attitude problem at all. As usual editing can make someone appear a certain way when they are not.

He was great on Saturday. I look forward to seeing more from him. He also dresses very well in my opinion. I see a Joseph in the making.

A definite dark horse in the competition

It's not about telling others what to do is it- unless they ask of course. The only way of leading that matters is to be stormingly good in the main role. If you can do that you'll be fine. Leading a company isn't something that a person chooses to do- the other cast members will give you the position out of respect if you have earned it.

I know that Judi Dench, for example, is often said to be very good at leading a company. She does that by being kind and supportive but that wouldn't matter two hoots if she wasn't damn good at what she does!

Yay, Seamus is gorgeous and talented! I believe him about the editing as i know how easy it is to stick two quotes togther with a cutaway over the top, but I hope he will be more careful about what he says next week, and not give them the opportunity of doing that!

He's not one of my favourites but I do think he's getting hard done by on this show, and I'm starting to wonder if the producers don't want him to win None of the other boys are portrayed anywhere near as negatively. That's why I try to ignore the videos - it's possible to create almost any impression of someone in a two-minute clip, if you have a week's worth of footage to play with.

Having said that, Seamus should watch what he says in future. That way, there'll be nothing to cleverly edit!

Seamus is my seconf favourite (after Lee). I think he is getting a harsh deal and a lot has been made out of the first VT, and that the judges have maintained it by bringing the subject up in both of the live shows. He is a little older than the rest so he knows what he wants and isn't afraid of admitting it. Also he is training to be a vocal coach so his suggestions, which im sure he intends to be helpful, may be misconstrued.
Sorry thats my little rant, but I get annoyed with people on these type of shows having to be made the 'bad guy'.

I've seen exactly what John's talking about, though. A leading man really does set a tone, and it impacts how everyone feels backstage, and how much they enjoy what they're doing. Professional or not, you really can tell the difference between a company that enjoys working together and one where there's a lot of tension.

I think Seamus has what it takes -- as a teacher he's almost certainly got the skills if he's halfway decent, and I'd bet he is. He just needs to put them into practice. He has the vocal skill -- if he can find it in himself to relax and enjoy the experience more, he'd not only come across better to the other Josephs, I bet it would help the nerve issues Zoe pointed out, too.

I agree with your point. What I was trying to say in my earlier point is that it isn't the most important thing, his talent is, whereas the panel seem never to mention his performances and only his attitude, which I don't feel is a problem.

Lets face it, there are many *stars* that are much, much more arrogant than he ever will be.

Also, it is a competition, so I see nothing wrong in Seamus really wanting to win and keeping himself to himself, besides, I am sure they cannot all be as nice as the show would have us believe

I really love a man who knows what he wants and is not afraid to go for it.... oh dear I'm sounding like Denise! But its true, that is the attraction for me. I see it when he performs. You can tell he really, really wants to be Joseph. He would definitely do the part justice. And he certainly is not too old (as I read someone say somewhere!). I think his maturity will give him an advantage.

Go Seamus for Saturday!

I'm so glad someone started this thread. I was going to start it but didn't think anyone would reply so it looks like a lot of us had the same thoughts. I really like Seamus and think he looks very good for his age (yes i know he's not that old really but at the age of 21 anyone over the age of 25 still seems old). He has a great voice and hopefully is going to look lovely in a loincloth on saturday although unfortunately I'm going to be missing the show.

I've just been on facebook and there's a thread thats going to attempt to boycott him but I've been supporting him on another group to try and balance it all out.
Go Seamus!

Just think, by this time tomorrow we will have seen him in a loincloth!

I am sad he is unpopular with some people, but a good side to this is that us fans know we HAVE to vote to keep him in... whereas sometimes the favourites are at risk of going out earlier coz people assume they must be safe.

I have voted for him both weeks and will definitely carry on, even if he doesn't win i want to see him on tv for as long as possible!

But editing can't make him SAY things - and most of the soundbites that Seamus comes out with are massively arrogant. "I don't understand team".....for example. We all know it's a competition - but what Seamus seems to completely fail to realise is that this is a POPULARITY contest. Of course the winner has to be able to sing - but they can all do that - what we want is a humility, and a likeability - and Seamus is sadly lacking in both. He comes across as MASSIVELY arrogant about his ability and chances in the show. Yes - he has talent - but that simply isn't enough to win the competition. If I were him I would think very carefully about what I say to the film crew over the next few weeks...

yes I felt they were quite down on him on the panel last week. I have only just started watching this but I really liked him.
