I don't see Seamus as arrogant - or Daniel and especially not Lee - why does he need to be careful?

it's a question we are all asking ourselves - but ALW knows best (and he doesn't like Seamus )

Well, I think that was obvious from the start!

I just thought he could have waited a little longer before kicking him off.

I feel your pain RB.

I don't know how I can watch it without the lovely Seamus. So sad.

And risk never having another chance? ... nope, ALW had to get rid of him then when he had the chance ... 'tis a shame, I think Seamus could have made a great Joseph ...

I feel so lost!

On the plus side...a lot of the Maria's ALW kicked off early (Abi,Aofie etc) have landed roles in the West End.

Hopefully Seamus will. Please God.

as has been mentioned - Seamus could play another role in Joseph - whatever he should be in something - he is brilliant

Yes! Think positive.

I was equally sad when Abi and Aofie were voted off (maybe a bit more now ) and they went on to do so well and proved ALW completely wrong.

Seamus does have the star quality to go on and do great things. I just wish people would stop going on about how at 35 (as if that is old!) he had not achieved anything. I actually think being a backing singer for the likes of Rod Stewart is pretty impressive! He doesn't need to prove anything, he will have his moment.

Exactly. I would rather Joseph look like him than some spotty teenage boy. Lol, not naming any names.....cough <Ben> cough....

Aw no how gutted am I?! So annoyed I had to miss the show last night. My nasty housemates decided to ring me and gloat that he'd gone which I wasnt impressed with. He'd have made a great Joseph and I'd go to watch him in any show so I hope some theatre director somewhere decides he's not so bad.

considering there are almost twice as many people in London as in the whole of Scotland, it's pretty obvious that our education system must be superior based on your type of logic ...... btw, I'm a home-based Scot who voted for Lee

yes, but if everyone in scotland voted say 4 times each, would that not be more than the whole of london once?

think of it properly and you may not look as stupid

it isnt racism its fact - were the mcdougal broters ever any good? no, 2 over-rated jocks that couldnt sing OR dance, getting through weekly on a teenage jock audience texting from their pay as you go sony ericcson walkman phones...

ONJ was in her thirties when she filmed Grease and it's easier to pull it off on stage than it is in a film. Remember that in Blood Brothers the same actors play the characters from when they are 7 until they are in their twenties and the audience doesn't bat an eyelid.

If you dont want to be accused of racism, stop saying "Jocks" and btw - they were the MACDONALD brothers! For the record, I didnt rate them either, nor do I think Craig should be in the final 12, but that doesnt stop your comments being offensive. (scottish person voting for Lee).

Lets not blame the Scots - it all came down to how Seamus's personality was presented to all the viewers, rather than his, and others', actual performances.

The general agreement is that Seamus failed to get the vote (both from the public, the panel and ALW himself) because he's arrogant. This is unfair, because it's a talent show and should be judged on talent.

I liked Seamus, but I have no difficultly believing he's arrogant - the same way that I believe Daniel works in a cement factory. It's true, but only part of a wider truth; and it's the version of the truth that was consistently highlighted to viewers, prejudicing their assessment of his performance.

It is perfectly possible that Lee has BO, Daniel picks his nose and Lewis has a wind problem - and none of these facts would make those individuals less capable of playing Joseph (well, possibly the BO might ) – but if the BBC highlighted any unpleasant shortcoming of this type, that contestant would lose public support and, ultimately, the role.

I wish the producers of this programme had treated all the entrants fairly, instead of rubbishing some and building up others.

Seamus was one of my favourites, looked and sounded right, and never put a foot wrong while performing.

It was however apparent that ALW and the panel had taken against him and were never going to let him win. I think they were wrong, but he was given such a bad edit personality-wise that he must have done something to make them feel that way. Watch this space, I'm sure he'll get a "show of his own" anyway - and something a bit feistier than Joseph!

Are we the same person? I completely agree, sure he was over-confident (I don't quite believe it was true arrogance) but that wouldn't have stopped him being brilliant. I totally believe him that he was portrayed badly in order to get him voted out sooner.

And there will be no Scotland bashing of any kind on my thread.
Thank you.

Isn't Joseph supposed to be the youngest of the brothers(its either him or Benjamin)?

To cast an older Joseph would perhaps cause difficulties in casting the rest of them. ALW seems to have this thing for younger actors and I imagine he want to cast the whole show fairly young.

Having said that, I think Rob looks far older than the others, so he would pose the same problems.

But - if that is the case - anyone he considered too old should never have been put through to the finals.

Unless you have a large database of the votes and locations in front of you, then there is only one person looking stupid

It's quite clear that you have an issue with the Scots here, you can't even address us properly, and it sadly seems that once again, as with X factor, we will continue to have this kind of amazing assumption that the entire nation of Scotland is sitting voting for someone purely because of their location. Thankfully, some of the posters who have followed you in this thread have spoken so much more sense

As for racism, well you can see it however you want, but would we be allowing this conversation if someone was talking about the West midlands all voting for an Asian joseph - of course we wouldn't! Seems only certain types of racism are allowed on here and they should be stopped immediately!!!!
