Samsung YPZ5
Hi,
Planning on getting this MP3 player for my nephew. Just wondered if anyone has it and has any opinions or advice? Also wondered if transferring music on to it was easy? Not sure which software it uses. I have an XP system and was going to transfer music onto it for him, but unfortunately his system is ME so I'm doubting it will work on that? 60 quid from Argos. Altho thats the YPZ5ZAP, I'm not sure what the difference is? Any info appreciated, Thanks. |

Not sure whether it would work with ME or not. One thing to bear in mind is the control system is a little fiddly.... there's a review here if it's of any help:

I have the YP-Z5 the 4gb one. This is my first mp3 player so it was all totally new to me. Before I bought it I read a lot of customer reviews on Amazon and it was highly rated so I bought one. The instructions it came with however were useless for a first timer, however I managed to have a fiddle and somehow worked it out myself. I'm on vista now and I haven't tried it on here yet, but I ran it on xp. I'm not all that clued up at describing the technical stuff, but if I can work it out anyone can. I think the word described for the transferal of music to player is a simple drag and drop then sync to the player. I'm not making any sense now am I. At first I did find the touch pad controls a bit fiddly, but I quickly learnt to use them. I hope this helps you a little, but no doubt someone more clued up will come on and make things more clearer

Thanks for the replies. Thinking about possibly getting an ipod nano instead, as thats what I have and find it really easy to use. Just hoping to find a good deal as they no longer sell 1gb and the 2gb is a lot more expensive!

The Samsung YP-Z5 has a better sound and battery life, so I've been told, compared to the Nano.
Had my 2GB player for about 3 months now, definately a great buy, no problems to report. Transferring music is incredibly straight forward through Windows Media player. Grab an album from your list and drop it across in the sync list and on the player it goes!. Don't be put off about the controls, you get used to it pretty quick and wonder what all the fuss was about. I wouldn't have any other player, it looks good, but most important, the sound quality is faultless in my opinion. |

Its a bit fiddly at first but a very nice player once you get the hang of it. The external speaker is a really neat feature.
I sync via Windows Media Player no problem. |
