That's 2 week's running we have had a tussle for the coat in the final exit song? Will it happen in week three?

I've noticed that... Chris B seems to win though. Who takes his coat if he goes out?

Maybe he's trying to collect all the coats...we should check ebay.

Do you think they have a planned order to stand in? It must be hard to rehearse as they don't know who is leaving.

I'm sure there's an easy-to-remember formula which means they all know where to stand no matter who leaves.

And I know this is supposed to be an appreciation thread, but I don't really like the tussle for the coat. I find it slightly upsetting when the coat is ripped off the guy who's leaving.

I think the 'coat-stripping' is a little unsympathetic for the person who is going (plus they have quite a large solo after getting some devastating news)! However, I have to admitt that I quite enjoy it-does that make me evil??

It happens in the show anyway. Joseph has his coat torn off him and then his brothers throw him down a well!

Loincloths on Saturday!

Do you think they will have a 'real' technicolour coat for the final?

The Seamus coat tussle is quite amusing - especially as Ben seems to be laughing before he runs off with the coat!

I agree with you, I think it's really unnecessary and must make the loser feel even worse than they already do - it's a real 'so near and yet so far' moment. Wasn't Seamus angry though?! He wrenched his coat off even before the others could get it off him, he was SO frustrated at having lost! (What a tosser! I should think the others were glad to see the back of him after that cringeworthy performance of his, and if "the Lord" needed convincing that he'd made the right decision, there it was right in front of his eyes! Sighs of relief all round, I should imagine.)

That's at least the third post I've read of yours tonight I totally agree with. Are you my twin? lol

Seriously though, you're spot on!

Who took Anthony's coat? My recording cut out before his performance.

I notice that Johndeep was one of those who took Chris C's coat and Anthony was one of those who took Johndeep's! Looks like it might be a bit of a jinks!!

Ooh, what were the other two??!! (I can be fairly opinionated and sometimes I shoot from the lip a bit and upset people - it's the red hair, lol! But now and again people agree with me! )

Well, despite my earlier post I thought Seamus's tussle for the coat was quite funny.

Although I do feel sorry for him. I've ranted about this in another thread so I won't go into detail here, but I do think he was unfairly kicked out.

What I noticed on Saturday was this. They tried to remove his coat gracefully (as in previous weeks) but his left arm got stuck. Humble, not self opinionated Seamus (believe that and you will believe anything) looked angry and agressive (tried to) and ripped it off himself and flung it down.

Remember it is a TV Show, I think the taking of the coat is just a symbol from "Joseph" - I think it is a moving part of the show.

Still don't like it - it's forcing the loser to perform a part of a show that he will now never be in (unnecessary 'rubbing the salt in the wound' imho). Looking at the raw emotion exhibited by some of the young guys, that could have a really deleterious effect on them in the future (I'm dreading when Chris loses - he will be a total nervous wreck and I'm not sure we should even be witnessing that).
