Thanks for the timely reminder that if I want art I should avoid photography.

Far far too much. And I've just seen that the prices are £950+ VAT and £1950+ VAT so really they're £1116.25 and £2291.25! Ridiculous!

Thanks for the timely reminder to avoid sweeping generalisations.

I liked her work, but I wasn't impressed by her so wouldn't buy any of it. A lesson she'd do well to remember, as I'm sure it wasn't just me.

Taking photographs is not art.

Yeah I like the photograhs but the woman was just a total nightmare.... really full of her own self importance...

The rest of her portfolio I think is good, especially the ones of the racing drivers. Why she couldn't as SAS suggested have an exhibition of a range of her work I don't know. That might have gone down better. The lips thing is pretentious twaddle though. The one with the razor blades would give me nightmares!

If photographs are not art, why would you need to be reminded to stay away from them if it is art that you want?

I love this quote from Grace Dent about Elisabeth Hoff:

Elisabeth Hoff isn't happy with anything at her private viewing. She doesn't like the labels and she doesn't like the gallery and she doesn't like the holes in the walls or the way the pictures are hung. And no, you can't have a list of my contacts to sell the art to. And why have you poured the wine out so early - it will get all gross and there's no negotiation on price at all and would you like to speak to my husband as he's an expert in art? Aren't we lovely people? Aren't we coming across well here? Don't you wish you were friends with us?

Could it have something to do with the pretension of some of the people in the programme and their liberal use of the word 'art'?

That reminds me of The Catcher in the Rye.
