I'm sorry but I had to start this thread because of the great injustice of the result tonight. Am I the only person that thought Seamus was far better than the majority of the josephs tonight, and especially better than Ben. To be frank I'm flabbergasted!

Same here. I thought Seamus was the best tonight and I don't care if he is a bit arrogant, he's more talented than a lot of the others.

Completly agree. If it was closed auditions personality would not be as big a factor.

Seamus wasn't the best tonight but he was miles better than Craig

I don't even think he was that bad personality wise, argh I'am so unbelievably annoyed. Seamus was my second favourite.

I think he has the better voice but he didn't act. That was what ALW said he was looking for. I thought his final song line summed up his attitude.

He did give a very good performance tonight, but even on telly he still gives the impression of being a smug self obsessed git. When they were doing the sing off towards the end of the song, Ben looked over nearly crying at Seamus for a bit of support, Seamus ignored him and carried on doing his diva singing. A bit of eye contact at such an emotional moment could have helped both of them

I'm not sure if it was that bad either. but if he really was as arrogant as the edit suggested then that is possibly why ALW didn't save him.

ALW might also be thinking of who is going to be easy to work with. Seamus came across as an utter arse.

Seamus did come across as arrogant, but I think ALW's judgement was unfair. Seamus had a good enough chance of winning, whereas Ben, I don't think he has any chance.

Seamus wasn't there to support Ben. And Ben shouldn't need supporting if he thinks he can sing in a West End musical. Farcical decision. Seamus, who has personality, has gone and the personality-free zone of the likes of Chris B remain. Perhaps Seamus should have brought on a weeping granny or mother but he's an adult and the others as youngsters require the weeping chorus.

I think that has to be the reason. Seamus must be the arrogant person he has been made out to be and then some, otherwise the result makes NO sense at all.

Seamus looked so angry/gutted and i don't blame him. My reaction was literally "wtf". He was my 3rd favourite.

Totally disagree. ALW isn't stupid - he knows he has a thoroughly objectionable character on his hands in Seamus. The public didn't like him; he lost the audience; he could never be a mass-market box office draw.

Andrew was absolutely bang on when he wondered aloud why Seamus hadn't already made it in the West End. He has the voice and the looks, but he is clearly very difficult to work with. I rolled my eyes when he sang: "I have been promised a show of my own" at the end. Good luck with that.

Ben at least had some charm.

I think Ben is cute and has a great soaring voice. I think there is a fine line between impressive vocals and overdoing it and Seamus was on the wrong side of that line

Seamus always looked like he was trying to show off rather than put in a genuine performance. Ben sang in the sing off better than him. However, he wasn't the worst performer tonight by quite a few!

Seamus has more talent in his little finger than most of them on that show. What a ridiculous decision. He has no more arrogance than many there I am sure. But as usual someone has to be picked out and isolated as the 'problem'. Complete farce.

I haven't watched the show tonight yet (it's recorded) but caught the final song. I was very shocked to see that Seamus was the one to go and quite liked him in previous weeks but I have to say that his last performance was far from impressive. His voice sounded strained and at times the intonation was a bit dodgy when before his vocals were his strong point. Not a good end for him.

When I go and see a show I do not care two hoots whether the lead performer is, kind to his mum, loves his budgie or anything else. The only thing that matters is whether he/she can cut it on stage. Nothing else. Seamus was better than several of those Josephs tonight- maybe more- and he deserved to stay.

ALW said "for some reason" he was in the bottom two. It could have been something to do with the fact that he has been portrayed as arrogant and then given a song to sing where he had no choice but to give an arrogant upfront performance. The mass of voters will insist on treating these shows as a popularity contest. They are not. The fact that people vote for those reasons makes them easy to manipulate and that's too often what happens.

How true.....

I find this week's result slightly disturbing in tone

no, even going y the final performance seamus was by far worse. He was out for himself and would never have worked as a ta on the actual show. I think ALW knew this.

Surprisingly, because I thought of Seamus as the more accomplished singer of the two,I preferred Ben's performance of the song,it really moved me,so in my opinion ALW made the right decision tonight,I dont think he got it wrong at all.

Didn't mean support as in hold his hand. I just thought that they could have played off each other and showed their acting skills, it would have gone with the song. then Andrew could have chosen from acting and singing. Anyway I can't stand all the crying - most of the youngsters should be sponsored by Kleenex

I guess I'm shocked that Seamus was in the bottom two, but I'm not at all surprised that ALW chose Ben over Seamus. You could hear the audience's approval of Bens style of singing in the final song, and to be honest; it brought tingles to my arms and a lump to my throat when Ben looked over at Seamus whilst he was singing. Ben might not have had the strongest voice, but by goodness, he sung his heart out in the sing off.

And after Seamus's strop, to me; he really showed just what a jumped up,arrogant being he is.
