Seamus' "conspiracy theory"?

Was he picking up on what the papers are saying about those who have been understudies having an advantage?

And was he hinting in his final song with the words "for I have been promised a show of my own?" instead of "land of my own".

Was he getting at Lee?

Has Lee already been chosen? And would we know because we're being ripped off anyway as god knows whether the voting system is fair or not so I don't bother to vote because of that fact.

Or is Seamus just bitter cos he's too old for the part?

Have I asked too many questions?

I thought the exact same questions Georgiecats.

Note to Seamus - GET OVER IT!!!!!!

Let's face it, Seamus was never going to take defeat graciously. Based on his singing, he didn't really deserve to go out so early, but he was never going to win, because he was too unlikable.

I think he has decided that "they" did not want him to win and this proves that to him.

Where he is coming from with this I have no idea. Probably borne out of his own arrogance and inner need to be always right about everything.

I think Seamus and his conspiracy theory was to do with the negative portrayl of him in the intro-vids leading the general opinion of him being an arrogant person rather than there being a 'chosen one'

Didn't he make a comment last week about the way he had been edited, if memory serves, it was regarding being a team player.

I thought the "show of my own" bit was suggesting that he's been offered something else and so doesn't need the part of Joseph. He just couldn't resist telling everyone that. That's probably not the case, but just a thought.

Am I right in say he messed up the words slightly in Close Every Door? He seemed to put the "I" (as in "If my life were important I") in the wrong place and found he had too many words to fit in!?

He would probably have got into the final 3 if he hadn't been so bitter and arrogant.

We just love to chop people down who stick their heads out too far.

Lily Allen take note.

I think he was well pissed off to be honest but i do think a.l.w. made the right choice based on vocals and i thought the song choice was great.

Is Seamus too arrogant for his own good? - Yes.

Did he deserve to leave instead of Ben? - No.

I think that is your opinion, the thing is how many shows have you produced and had on the West End and Broadway.

It could be that ALW knows a little bit more than all of us on here.

ALW asked for emotion and did not get it from Seamus but he did from Ben.

ALW probably thought that Seamus thinks he knows better than me so if he won and then ALW asked him to do this Seamus might go out on the opening night and think, no I will do it my way as I know best.

Agreed.
I actually thought him changing the words was quite funny.
How can anyone call him bland?!!!!

I don't ready any tabloids or other news papers, so my opinion of Seamus hasn't been clouded by other peoples comments.

From the first time I saw Seamus, there was just something about him that didn't ring true with me. From what I've seen on ADWD He's the one harping on about being a vocal coach and what he's got to offer. He's also mentioned the fact that he's the eldest on more than one occasion, to numeral for me to count actually.

And on more than one occasion have I thought that he's actually a plant! Now they'd (who ever they may be) would have to have dropped blooming lucky to have been chosen to have got down to the final 12. But he just seems a little to clever with his comments. He does have a very strong voice, but overall, I found him rather lacklustre.

I think that "the Lord" said something which a lot of people thought, why had Seamus not made it yet? Why was he on this show at the age of 35? There is one word, SMUG, you cannot be smug and pass an audition. As my good lady said, the other contestants will be pleased that he is out of the way, not because he was a threat to their success, but because he was a pain in their collective backsides.

I quite liked Seamus and do think he was deliberately edited badly but I must admit I could never see him as Joseph. They did keep emphasising his age and although I don't think he looked 35, against most of the others he did look the 'older brother' and no matter how well he sang or how well he acted, I couldn't visualise him being a younger brother.

He is talented and hopefully will do well, but I do think that even if the audience had liked him and voted for him every week, Andrew Lloyd Webber would never have accepted him in this particular part.

If I'm being generous, I believe they put him through to show case his talents and highlight him for future musicals. If I'm being cynical, he was a talking point - age, arrogance, inexperience beating experience.....

That's what I thought too. That he was thumbing his nose to them all as he already had another (better) offer. He was a great singer and I'm sorry he's gone. Some of the contestants still seem a bit faceless to me, he didn't. I don't think you have to be likeable as a person to be a great performer, but these shows are more about personality than just the talent and I can see that is just people's nature. If contestants rub people up the wrong way, then the public won't vote for them. People in showbiz by their nature shouldn't be humble anyway. Look at Elton John and his legendary tantrums.
