isn't it one of those weird things where a person's personality affects how they look? at the start of the series I thought they were all pretty inoffensive looking, but as the series has gone on, Katie has looked more unattractive and ugly as the weeks go by and Adam is just improving in looks each week!

It's absolutely true, and a perfect reason why people shouldn't be taken in by first impressions. Personalities do show in people's faces, which is why Katie is getting more pinched looking as the weeks go by, and Adam is turning into a cuddly little bushbaby. I thought Gazelle or whatever her name is was really pretty when I first saw her, but she's so boring and ineffectual that now I don't even notice her any more. (Even Naomi is morphing into a 2D dumb blonde, and the OH said she was the best-looking to start with.) And after last night - Lohit is making me sit up and take notice! (The worst by far though is Tre - he takes ugliness to a new level!)

agreed on all of those and Lohit, he's improved greatly. Up until last night I'd only noticed his sticky out ears!

I'm deeply ashmed to admit this, and grateful none of you know who I am in 'real life' or I feel you'd all stand outside my house tonight and deservidly mock me, but my first impression of Paul was 'he's potentially quite cute' The impression didn't last thankfully

Really? Why do you resort to such offensive sexist stereotyping of women?

Oh for god's sake, you're as bad as some others on here (I thought better of you)! Are you some sort of radical feminist suffering from a sense of humour bypass?! Anyway there's nothing offensive or sexist or stereotypical about saying "Naomi is morphing into a 2D dumb blonde" (unless you are one I suppose) - Naomi is a pretty girl who I had high hopes of at the start, but is now trying to fade into the background trying to escape from the crap that is going on - the problem is that if she does that, her good qualities will get forgotten by everybody and her personality won't be shown effectively - she is doing this 'morphing' entirely of her own volition.

If you knew my posts better, you would realise that they are very largely tongue-in-cheek, but I can be feisty and direct (it's the red hair) and I hate bland boring threads - (I'll apologise if I think someone's moan is justified - but not if I don't). Sorry if you don't like my style - why are you picking on me anyway? (There's lots of other very personal comments being made on here.)

Very school playground IMO!”

I don't like people telling tales, but in this case it really affected the task.
Spoiler
Paul and Katie buggered off giggling together for ages leaving the others on their own! Really bad judgement on both their parts. Christina completely saved the day and good on her for having the b*lls to stand up to him

I'm all for love but not when it affects work, especially in a negative way.

the worst thing about it was that he took Katie because of her French and then did all the talking himself! So she actually ended up doing exactly nothing but stand around simpering for the WHOLE TASK

the reason their shagging matters is because it affected who he chose - he wanted to save her so he could carry on dipping his wick even though she did the least out of all the team

that makes it relevant and bravo to Kristina for grassing!

Well, no. She's actually working hard on tasks, helping her team to victory and then being left out of the edit.

For example, according to her website she spent a lot of time produces French crib-notes for common phrases on the evening before market day. This helped all the people on her team overcome the language barrier and so sell more. It wasn't shown in the edit, so you would only know about it if you read up on the WWW.

Most of the fired candidates speak well of her. I still have high hopes of her reaching at least the final four.

The only thing I really don't like about these once a week shows is that we are at the mercy of the production team and their storyline (or in otherwords...most controversial characters stand out to provide an edit that satisfies viewing figures and makes us gasp and go.."Oh my gawd")

However, although some of us might have marked up a few contenders in the beginning and then they have become invisible, is no bad news.

It just means that the controversial characters are either destined for burn out or staying power and have yet to challenge the background lot. So as the weeks go on, the background lot will become more in the focus as we get rid of the more flamboyant showmen.

Anyway, I don't know if that makes sense....but there's hope for the others and so long as they're still in the game, there's still a chance for them to shine...at least in terms of editing and production.

I take it Michelle and Syed didn't get together until after the show last year?

That's terrible!! It should definitely have been shown, otherwise viewers will get the same impression that I got, i.e. she was doing nothing very much at all. (I wonder if Ghazal is working away behind the scenes too, because she doesn't look as if she's doing much either.) That's very unfair, I think - I hope Sir A knows what she's been doing, at least.

The shows are edited for a storyline each week & when there are so many contestants they can't give each similar air-time in effectively a 20/25 min edit of a 2 day task. Each contestant will have their 'day' and you really can only make judgements on what they actually do not rubbish them because the edit hasn't shown their contribution. You only have to come on here to see that whoever has featured heavily in the edit is the 'latest' possible winner.

Remember we only see what they want us to see.
